How did you get ur chinchilla to do that? It's amazing! I have a male chinchilla about 8 months old and he still won't let me hold him or grab him =\ any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated looks like u did a great job lol

@Leorgo Depends on where you got it. Maybe it's had a bad experience with humans in the past. I maybe it's just still adjusting to its new surroundings... Idk lol

ok wtf.. my chinchilla is almost 4 years old.. it wouldnt dare let me touch it like that. if i even try to lay a finger on it, its gone before i know it.. honestly i dont even know why i have a chinchilla.. (i got it 2 days ago). i wonder if it'll always hate me. damn chinchilla..

@Leorgo i have a degu that i rescued (they're closely related to chinchillas), you just have to be patient. my degu was only a couple months old, however. your chinchilla being 4 years old might be too late to help or will just need a lot more patience. don't rush at it & don't force anything. give it treats every once in a while & get it used to you, talk to it nicely. it took my degu 4 days before she started chirping at me, grooming me and crawling all over me.

Ive been giving her plenty of attention and love and exercise, but i would like us to bond more so she'll trust me more.

@PokeSquirtleSaysHi just keep doing what you're doing. :) don't chase her around her cage to pick her up or anything, always try to hand-feed her treats. only pick her up when she comes to you. sounds like you're doing everything right. everything takes time!

That was so true when you first get a chinchilla. After having one for quite sometime, there pooping calms down. It calms down because they are use to there new home & surrounding. That is my guess.

do you have to have a big house to keep a chinchilla ? and you can train them to go to the toilet in one place cus i did that with my hamster :)

From what I know you can try to train them to go in one place but they tend to go were ever, and no you do Not need a big house for one just a nice and comfertable cage.

how is that chinchilla so relaxed? :O mine are both so jumpy and hate being stroked :/ they also only like being held if they can sit on your hand and have the freedom to jump off when they want, which they take advantage of and always run back to their cage :/

It has to do with how much human contact they had as babies. If you got them at a pet store, they usually aren't held too much. And it depends on how old they were when you got them. If they were still babies when you got them, and you held them regularly, they would have become comfortable with being held. If they were older when you got them, it would be harder to get them to be comfortable. You can earn their trust as adults, but they usually still prefer not being touched.

@pinkhippo22 our chinchilla poops all the time :D and everywhere but the poo doesn t smell and it is completly dry so it is not problem for us...but our chinchilla doesn t let us to caress him like that on the video:D they have different characters maybe :D

Yes it is,but please never try shoving you face into a rabbit's belly ,cause though they are one the loveliest creatures on this earth, they would surely get frightened and with an instinctive jolt with their back legs their nails would do you serious injuries, with consequences like hurting your eyes for good or causing serious wounds on your face.

@Keletkert I Wouldn't actually do that, I just wanted to give an example of what I would like to do with such a cutie. And I do have some experience with animals giving me a hard time. Once I had a kitten on my couch and I got real close to it with my face. And out of nowhere it bit me on the forehead. Heh, I tried to squash it but my grandma stopped me. Note that I was probably 5 or 6 at the time, so hey...But still, they're just following their instincts :)
