Maybe not, but I can see where he's coming from. You see, some of us paid attention in English and can appreciate symbolism because of it. And believe it or not, it actually makes the movie MORE enjoyable. So why don't you shut up and pay attention to the finer details. You might like the movie more.
Much of the movie was filmed at St. Johns, in Houston, where Anderson graduated high school. You either get anderson/wilson or anderson comedy or you don't.
Favorite line is Hackman in Royal Tenenbaums "but i'm going to live"
herman laughs (and obviously) at the comment "worst student we've got". it's called irony, and not to mention he made an ass of himself by praising the worst possible candidate possible, thus undermining his own credibility and his point of the entire discussion max walked in on. it's fucking funny. i'll invite u to dinner w/ us, but after that comment, i'm gonna have to ask you to wear a tie.
omg plz post the scene where Max and Herman are talking on the phone and Herman walks into a basketball area and randomly blocks a small kid's layup!!
"Take dead aim at the richies.Get them in the crosshairs, and take them down.Remember, they can buy anything, but they can't buy backbone.Don't let them forget that."Well said!!
I Love Wes Anderson's Movies and especially the way he directs the camera angles and so forth. Especially he knows which music tracks are perfect for a character while showing what that person is or has done.
I agree with the music being perfect for these movies, but you hafta give some credit to mark mothersbaugh. he does the music for most if not all anderson movies. and he used to be in devo!!
The Yankee Racer one is the best! When my friend and I were watching this at his house we were laughing so hard throughout this whole scene. Just how his pants are short and socks pulled up, and his little goggles too. Read on imdb that it's based on a Jacques Henri Lartigue picture. There's a lot of references to his work in Wes Anderson's movies :P
Jacques Henri Lartigue!!! Wes A. also used Lartigue images for inspiration in The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou...and Lartigue's brother was named Zissou...
lol at 2:41 "bombardment society founder" as he's chasing everyone with the ball wearing the Suit and Tie. Too funny
