Do you have video clips of pryor or other players tested after this initial evaluation? It seems reasonable that we'd want to know if there were any improvements in their biomechanics.
@roryrook Good question. I guess we won't get the opportunity with Pryor. Usually, this sort of testing is off-limits to cameras, so I doubt we'll be seeing any more of it in the foreseeable future.
@kipchoge23 This is nothing compared to what they go through when being tested for the NFL draft. These tests are for the benefit of the player. NFL tests are for the benefit of the NFL.
Eric Lichter is a crazy coach (in a good way), used to work out w/ him @ Speed Strength Systems in Euclid...looks like Pryor had a little belly fat, could also work on that balance
about 2 or 3 years ago i was at a high school wrestaling tourney, and out of no where pryor walks in and sits right in from of me so i ask him for his auto graft and every body though it was funny and started laughing at me.. and now its really not that funny after all. i dont go to jannette i go to trinity we all play in the wpial where we got to know about pryor
thats sweet dude, I asked him for an autograph when he came to Mercer County to play at Sharon Highschool and I didnt get one, but instead he gave me his head band. and now I have it stored away for when he goes pro!
That's a valid opinion. These tests are VERY new to college football. The results may be used in the future to help an athlete recover after a major injury. If they know exactly how an individual's body behaves before the injury, they can customize the rehabilitation to that specific athlete. However, the true value of this still remains to be seen.
i could have sworn i saw this exact same guy in the nba columbine or whatver you call it before they get drafted to the nba. same body same shorts. did he try for the nba or somthing?
I have no doubt that these tests can be valuable in helping prevent and treat injuries....I'm just perplexed at the weird blue diaper they have him wearing.
Actually, they are just normal shorts that they taped up out of the way of the reflective dots. If the media wasn't there, they may have stripped him to his undies.
Is your reply in the right place? I think you're trying to reply to my post below. The answer is based on me personally talking with the doctors and technicians at the biomedical lab about how their work is going to be used.
People of all ages watch football and make comments. For me it was Archie Griffin. There was a lot of great football before that, and I've learned a lot about it since then, but that was the era that turned me of to football and specifically Ohio State.
Last year was the first time OSU did it. They are doing it for all of them now. I don't know about other schools, but I don't think many of them have this sort of facility at their disposal.
They needed to strip to their shorts so that the technicians could attach the silver reflectors. The reflectors were tracked by computers to record the players movements. You can see them being attached at 2:00. You can see how the computer tracks them at 3:32.
OSU last National Championship was in 2008, when the fencing team won it all.
If you're only talking about "major" sports, I think you might be able to remember the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, when OSU beat Miami in two overtimes to win it all.
Since then, OSU has won the NCAA championship in various sports a total of 6 times.
That wasn't the most talented team, but they were sufficient enough during the regular season to make it to the National Championship. Great game btw, sad that what happened to one of the main catalysts of that team. Can't wait for the upcoming season.
Wasn't the most talented? The 2002 team? Maybe, but there were more players drafted from that team than any in OSU history. They even set a NFL draft record in 2004 w/14 players taken.
Really? Didn't know that haha, thanks for the information. Nonetheless they were talented having to beat the defending national champions. Hopefully they bounce back this season with a possible run to the BCS Title Game.
He's bulked up quite a bit. He'll be a monster for you guys for years to come. I wouldn't feel to good about Texas' matchup against you guys in the future.
Just shows you the lack of physical preparation being done by jr. high and high school programs. Terrelle Pryor is an exceptional athlete, has nothing to do with his knocking him, seems like a great kid. Just a joke that he's unable to perform such simple isometric holds and not be able to absorb his bodyweight off a 12" plyo box. This just shows how much further he can go, which is scary.
he is a beast vs texas he just ran right over them. nobody can ever stop him. He will be the heisman winner in 2009-2010. I know it.terrelle pryor aint no cryer hes a shine like a blocker dont vip sit quit on rick.
I added a link in the sidebar to a recent photo of ours, taken of Terrelle during warmups at the Fiesta Bowl. Click "more info" to see the link. He's looking pretty fit recently.

In the past 80 years, you may be right. The all time records for most of the things you listed are set out of reach by Michigan and Notre Dame, mostly, before the invention of the forward pass.

Did they use this shit last year? Did they test their defensive players like this also? How about not throwing an INT? You know what is shocking they didn't really score on Troy till the 4th quarter. Should they even be ranked?
You guys are doubting hi strength...i guerentee hes faster and can throw a football farther then anyone posting a comment and thats all he needs to do.
I hope he hits the weight room a little bit harder before his soph year because he is scrawney. I am a huge buckeye fan, I am not trying to put him down, I just couldnt imagine how good he could be with some muscle on him.
...he would slow down dramatically..i doubt he'll bulk up at all.....Ginn played scrawny all the way til he hit the NFl. When Ginn hit the NFL god dam he bulked up
Exploited? They're being tested to find possible problems early. I don't see a problem there. They allowed cameras to spotlight the new technology. I doubt it will be filmed again.
so people aren't educated enough to understand that. OSU medical / hospital is one of the top research facilities in the United States. Keep up the good work Buckeyes.
I hope you realize that I and plenty of others have heard that same comment over and over by dipshits just like you. Be unique and say something intelligent. And they are Ohio State not Ohoio state dumbass.
oh wow you are correct...tell you what i would love to make it to the big game and be known as the team that is a slave to the SEC, whats that? remind me the last time OSU beat an SEC team in a bowl game? *crickets*.....oh yeah thats right it was NEVER....remind me again why yall are ranked? have yall played a ranked team yet???.....besides the thrashing SC gave you...oh and they lost to that other OSU, go beavers
LOL i know you aint a Beaver fan cause they aint done nothing in a grip...not to mention dey havent had a star player since Barry Sanders...Yea dey beat usc after giving up 3 tds in the 2nd half...Im tried of people hating on the Buckeyes when ever they win the other team wasnt good enough when ever they lose they suck.
Michigan hasnt beat us in 7 years, weve been to 3 nc championship games, at least 4 big ten championships and a heisman winner and dats just since we had tresell...not to mention weve been ranked number idk how many times....now how bout dem beavers???
im not a beaver fan you idiot, and tell me last time michigan has done somethin worthy?
SEC football OWNS OSU and they always will because guess what?...OSU has NEVER beat an SEC team in a bowl game, and thats counting the two BLOWOUTS the past two years with tresell.....
all im proposing is OSU needs to be treated like Hawaii, yall need to be undefeated for at least 3 years before your considered for a BCS Bowl game and after yall are destroyed by a two loss SEC team yall wone be heard from
fist off, not a Michigan fan but you are questioning when the last time michigan has done something?? when's the last time bama did something?? 92-93? michigan won it all in 97-98 i believe. and osu won it all in 02-03 so your point of when is the last time michigan has done anything is bogus considering they have won a NC more recently than bama.
also, please refrain from saying 'wone' anymore, thanks.
Yea we lost to sec teams, im not making any excuses on that but you cant say if we played usc today it wouldnt be a differet game with a healthy Beanie wells and terrele Pryor geting more mature. And oSU is a top team, just look at how many people we put in the NFL a year man, like serious we rebuild every year. and we hardly ever drop.
Trust watch these next couple years too, aint nothin gone change wit OSU we just gon get better.Wish i could say da same for your Tide.Brodie Croyle
no i can say that it would be the same game, who has terelle pryor played against? any ranked team?? didnt think so.....and check your facts before you start blastin off about the NFL, players from the SEC make up the largest percentage of active NFL starters...and ill name some names if u want, Demeco Ryans(more solo tackles than ray lewis last year) Roman Harper(saftey for the saints) Mark Anderson(led all defensive ends in sacks his rookie year and started in the super bowl)......and just...
...to name a few future NFL prospects, Andre Smith(already on the draft board as a top 3 pick, and hes only a jr), Julio Jones, Mark Barron, Rashad Johnson, Javier Arenas, Antione Caldwell, Rolondo McClain(whos brother starts for the Ravens by the way), Donte Hightower, Terrance Cody, and Zeke Knight wouldve went pro this year but had to stop playing football due to an enlarged heart...there will be more to come dont worry...6-0 #2 in the nation
We actually learned about motionless marker capture and Chaduri came to our class!

44Jayhawk 2 years ago
Everyone on your team running a 4.5? Unless you have a team of backs and recievers I highly doubt that.
crazyasianskills 2 years ago
This kid really works hard. He came into Columbus running a 4.5 and I hear in practice last week he's been timed at 4.33
That makes him the fastest man on the squad. Incredible.
RBGdUP 2 years ago
The 4.33 was electronically timed earlier in the summer.
Bucknik 2 years ago
You don't put on 15+ pounds in the off-season and get that much faster, let alone faster than anything Michael Vick ever ran.
Pryor is fast, but he's not the fastest QB in history which 4.33 speed would make him.
He's probably a 4.47 type of guy which is still blazing fast and only 2nd to Vick all-time
BusBoyIsBack 2 years ago
Well, he's faster than Brandon Saine, who broke Ted Ginn's record in the 100 meter dash 2 years ago. That's some serious speed.
Bucknik 2 years ago
pryor sure as hell is NOT faster than brandon saine
brandon saine not only was faster than ted ginn, he was WAY FASTER.
saine ran more than half of a second faster in the 100m dash than Ginn
and Ginn never had the record in that, he had the record in the 110 hurdles
i gurantee you, that at the combine, brandon saine will run 4.2 or 4.3 auto and pryor will run 4.5 or 4.6

You guys are doubting hi strength...i guerentee hes faster and can throw a football farther then anyone posting a comment and thats all he needs to do.
springborodude 3 years ago
the problem is he isnt playing against the poeple posing comments.
joecandito 3 years ago 2
I hope he hits the weight room a little bit harder before his soph year because he is scrawney. I am a huge buckeye fan, I am not trying to put him down, I just couldnt imagine how good he could be with some muscle on him.
DTGB10 3 years ago
...he would slow down dramatically..i doubt he'll bulk up at all.....Ginn played scrawny all the way til he hit the NFl. When Ginn hit the NFL god dam he bulked up
tylerbees123 3 years ago 2
hitting the weights actually makes you faster.
joecandito 3 years ago
Did that guy say 225? 6'4+ with 225 pounds and 4.4 speed is just nasty. BTW are you sure he's 6'6? He didn't look that tall in that HS Game.
BusBoyIsBack 3 years ago
He was measured at 6'-5.5" on the day that they did these tests. The Columbus Dispatch incorrectly reported him at 6'-3.5", but that was a typo.

So this determines if they will be injured or not? But how does that help anything? I mean, you can't prevent an injury.
OhioState48 3 years ago
You can strengthen tendoms and muscles by the weak spot. Increasing stability and flexibility help lower the chance of an injury.

This is so ridiculous. Why would a parent let their child be expoited like that?
ramrod20042000 3 years ago
Exploited? They're being tested to find possible problems early. I don't see a problem there. They allowed cameras to spotlight the new technology. I doubt it will be filmed again.
Bucknik 3 years ago
so people aren't educated enough to understand that. OSU medical / hospital is one of the top research facilities in the United States. Keep up the good work Buckeyes.
hoolmac1 3 years ago 2
they are assuring that the kids are fit to play. what is exploitation about that?

sweet shorts

They were normal gym shorts, but they had to tape them up, out of the way of the silver location dots that they used in the motion lab.

im so ready for ohoio state to get back in the NC game this year......
so they can have their ass handed to them by another SEC team for the third year in a row, 0-9 vs SEC teams in bowl games....
way to perform in the big games buckeyes
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
I hope you realize that I and plenty of others have heard that same comment over and over by dipshits just like you. Be unique and say something intelligent. And they are Ohio State not Ohoio state dumbass.
OhioState48 3 years ago
and you will keep hearing it until that poor excuse for a team in an even weaker conference can win a big game
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
at least were making it to the big game
DawnLei 3 years ago
oh wow you are correct...tell you what i would love to make it to the big game and be known as the team that is a slave to the SEC, whats that? remind me the last time OSU beat an SEC team in a bowl game? *crickets*.....oh yeah thats right it was NEVER....remind me again why yall are ranked? have yall played a ranked team yet???.....besides the thrashing SC gave you...oh and they lost to that other OSU, go beavers
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
LOL i know you aint a Beaver fan cause they aint done nothing in a grip...not to mention dey havent had a star player since Barry Sanders...Yea dey beat usc after giving up 3 tds in the 2nd half...Im tried of people hating on the Buckeyes when ever they win the other team wasnt good enough when ever they lose they suck.
DawnLei 3 years ago
and no im not a beaver fan, Roll Tide.
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
barry sanders went to oklahoma state, know your shit first before you talk.
the14doc 3 years ago
Michigan hasnt beat us in 7 years, weve been to 3 nc championship games, at least 4 big ten championships and a heisman winner and dats just since we had tresell...not to mention weve been ranked number idk how many times....now how bout dem beavers???
DawnLei 3 years ago
im not a beaver fan you idiot, and tell me last time michigan has done somethin worthy?
SEC football OWNS OSU and they always will because guess what?...OSU has NEVER beat an SEC team in a bowl game, and thats counting the two BLOWOUTS the past two years with tresell.....
all im proposing is OSU needs to be treated like Hawaii, yall need to be undefeated for at least 3 years before your considered for a BCS Bowl game and after yall are destroyed by a two loss SEC team yall wone be heard from
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
fist off, not a Michigan fan but you are questioning when the last time michigan has done something?? when's the last time bama did something?? 92-93? michigan won it all in 97-98 i believe. and osu won it all in 02-03 so your point of when is the last time michigan has done anything is bogus considering they have won a NC more recently than bama.
also, please refrain from saying 'wone' anymore, thanks.
Daytonkid11 3 years ago
sorry about the spelling error, must have been in a hurry but heres the last time bama did something good recently...
6-0 # 2 in the nation, will be in a BCS bowl this year..write it down
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
Yea we lost to sec teams, im not making any excuses on that but you cant say if we played usc today it wouldnt be a differet game with a healthy Beanie wells and terrele Pryor geting more mature. And oSU is a top team, just look at how many people we put in the NFL a year man, like serious we rebuild every year. and we hardly ever drop.
Trust watch these next couple years too, aint nothin gone change wit OSU we just gon get better.Wish i could say da same for your Tide.Brodie Croyle
DawnLei 3 years ago
no i can say that it would be the same game, who has terelle pryor played against? any ranked team?? didnt think so.....and check your facts before you start blastin off about the NFL, players from the SEC make up the largest percentage of active NFL starters...and ill name some names if u want, Demeco Ryans(more solo tackles than ray lewis last year) Roman Harper(saftey for the saints) Mark Anderson(led all defensive ends in sacks his rookie year and started in the super bowl)......and just...
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
...to name a few future NFL prospects, Andre Smith(already on the draft board as a top 3 pick, and hes only a jr), Julio Jones, Mark Barron, Rashad Johnson, Javier Arenas, Antione Caldwell, Rolondo McClain(whos brother starts for the Ravens by the way), Donte Hightower, Terrance Cody, and Zeke Knight wouldve went pro this year but had to stop playing football due to an enlarged heart...there will be more to come dont worry...6-0 #2 in the nation
mattwilliams0753 3 years ago
