@Android7611 about the music :) the band is still a band and its musical accomplishment is being undermined and overshadowed by religious nonsense just because their lyrics concern religion (many band write about different topics yet the first thing that is discussed is the music itself and not the lyrics, I think they should be given the same kind of attention, otherwise they will never outgrow the tag of "christian band").

though a part of what I believe, differences (big?) from what people see as christianity, I do believe in jesus and god, so yea, I call me a christian because of that. I wouldn't put this band under the label of christianity though, already because of the lack of respect towards christianity while everyone has to show respect to muslims and the islam.
This is so frickin good and I am not a huge fan of speedy power metal but these guys are so much better than the rest. Love for a support act to Iced Earth so they get some gigs and more recognized. Cheers from Sweden!
I am honestly disappointed with Theocracy. This song basically attacks the Catholic Church. I'm not gonna listen to these guys anymore because I know a true christian wouldn't attack the Church Christ Himself founded.

The same way we can attack the corruption so many supposely protestant churches are going through today. The visible church is not incorruptible and shoud be questioned. You know the churches which are mentioned in the New Testament are nothing like the catolic church during Martin Luther's life. (Sorry for repeating the same word so many times).

@TheGameFilmGuruMan Indulgences were not something to be sold. That's called Simony and it's a mortal sin. That doesn't disprove that Jesus founded the RCC with Peter as Pope. Luther also threw out books of the Bible and preached sin being unable tear you away from God but scripture clearly shows that sin does seperate someone from God. He fought an evil but fell into a worse evil.
I am aware that Luther threw out Revelations, and disagree with with him on that point as well. As for the sin being unable to tear you away, that is the debate concerning eternal salvation after becoming a Christian vs the ability to stop being a Christian. Proponents of eternal salvation argue that if one was a real Christian, they wouldn't fall away to begin with. For Peter and the papacy, it's based on the ambiguity of one verse in the Bible.

May statement itself was ambiguous then, for the part about Peter and the Papacy was supposed to be separate, but I ran out of space. I meant that the idea of Peter being made head of the church was based on the the ambiguity of a verse-possibly taken out of context. Protestants (like me!) say that the phrase "and on this rock I will build my church" is Christ referring back to himself, not Peter-which makes more sense anyway given what Peter said.

The authority given to Peter in the next verse was also given to the other disciples in Matthew 18:18. Also, few verses later Jesus calls Peter Satan. :)

That can still be "and on this rock..." with the interpretation of that he was _one_ of the rocks the church was built upon-for he certainly wasn't the only one. The Catholic Church, while has some dark history to be honest, has been persecuted for 2,000 years. So many misconceptions spamming a great song. Evolution and Genesis aren't opposing view points. God is the potter and we are the clay, it wasn't boom there's a human but a slow forming like with pottery. He gave us the ability to adapt and free will so we do evolve. Also, old testament isn't always fact, a lot is symbolic. It's a book of divinely inspired stories that form the morals and beliefs. Some is cold fact some are 'examples'
Second, I'm Catholic, but I recognize that there was a time of major corruption in the church. I don't feel this is an anti-Catholic song as much as it is about not giving into greed and corruption. However, the Church HAS changed, and no longer has the issues it once did.

God saves us with Grace which is given through FAITH, not FEAR, with the roman catholic church repeatedly tried to instill. WE should fear GOD; not misguided people who also sin. Another point: the Bible is a word of salvation for ALL to read. Blind faithfulness is no Faith at all if you don't know what you believe.
I'd say it has something to do with the church which murdered and persecuted dissenters. Additionally, I would argue that many of Luther's problems with the Catholic Church were totally justifiable. They had deviated from the truth of God's Word through the practices of indulgences, or that the Pope, not Jesus Christ is the arbiter of proper and sound doctrine.

Then it was added to over the years by the likes of Fransisco, Benedict, and all the Popes trying to get more and more temporal power until the kingdoms of Europe, beginning with France, rejected Papal Primacy in favor of ruling over their own people, both the flesh and the spirit. Luther's writings ARE consistent with scripture. Dogma isn't always, though.

its power metal, and its christian as well :p nice thing that sometimes the guitar work reminds me to emppu vuorinen
though a part of what I believe, differences (big?) from what people see as christianity, I do believe in jesus and god, so yea, I call me a christian because of that. I wouldn't put this band under the label of christianity though, already because of the lack of respect towards christianity while everyone has to show respect to muslims and the islam.

I am honestly disappointed with Theocracy. This song basically attacks the Catholic Church. I'm not gonna listen to these guys anymore because I know a true christian wouldn't attack the Church Christ Himself founded.

Luther also threw out books of the Bible and preached sin being unable tear you away from God but scripture clearly shows that sin does seperate someone from God. He fought an evil but fell into a worse evil.

I am aware that Luther threw out Revelations, and disagree with with him on that point as well. As for the sin being unable to tear you away, that is the debate concerning eternal salvation after becoming a Christian vs the ability to stop being a Christian. Proponents of eternal salvation argue that if one was a real Christian, they wouldn't fall away to begin with. For Peter and the papacy, it's based on the ambiguity of one verse in the Bible.

May statement itself was ambiguous then, for the part about Peter and the Papacy was supposed to be separate, but I ran out of space. I meant that the idea of Peter being made head of the church was based on the the ambiguity of a verse-possibly taken out of context. Protestants (like me!) say that the phrase "and on this rock I will build my church" is Christ referring back to himself, not Peter-which makes more sense anyway given what Peter said.

The authority given to Peter in the next verse was also given to the other disciples in Matthew 18:18. Also, few verses later Jesus calls Peter Satan. :)

That can still be "and on this rock..." with the interpretation of that he was _one_ of the rocks the church was built upon-for he certainly wasn't the only one. Acts 14 seems to make the appearance there being more of a council.

The Catholic Church, while has some dark history to be honest, has been persecuted for 2,000 years. Pagans tried to destroy christians, heresies and schisms attacked the Church from the inside, if there was no Divine aid to protect it then the gates of hell would have prevailed against it long ago.

So many misconceptions spamming a great song. Evolution and Genesis aren't opposing view points. God is the potter and we are the clay, it wasn't boom there's a human but a slow forming like with pottery. He gave us the ability to adapt and free will so we do evolve. Also, old testament isn't always fact, a lot is symbolic. It's a book of divinely inspired stories that form the morals and beliefs. Some is cold fact some are 'examples'

You will also find many attacking the Bible, as well as supporting it. Both of them require faith, evolution and atheism, as well as creationism and the Bible. @henrydog1994 About evolution being taught as a fact, not all schools do that, and not all scientists approve that either, even though many do, that's wrong. There are evidences that support the Bible, of course there's nothing that will prove the divine nature of it (even though it's also studied for historical purposes), that will come from faith. But that's why I'm saying evolution is not a fact, has many unsolved problems and require as much faith as believing that God created the universe.

I'd say it has something to do with the church which murdered and persecuted dissenters. Additionally, I would argue that many of Luther's problems with the Catholic Church were totally justifiable. They had deviated from the truth of God's Word through the practices of indulgences, or that the Pope, not Jesus Christ is the arbiter of proper and sound doctrine.

@OrthodoxyFTW Hate to break it to you, but neither is the Catholic church apostolic. It was founded at the Council of Nicaea by Constantine. Then it was added to over the years by the likes of Fransisco, Benedict, and all the Popes trying to get more and more temporal power until the kingdoms of Europe, beginning with France, rejected Papal Primacy in favor of ruling over their own people, both the flesh and the spirit. Luther's writings ARE consistent with scripture. Dogma isn't always, though.

@OrthodoxyFTW theocracy is not trying to attack the catholic church. matt smith said in an interview that it is merely telling a historical story. having said that, the catholic church has and still does teach many non-biblical doctrines (ie worship of saints and mary, indulgences etc) yes luther later fell into his own false doctrines but that doesnt change the fact that many of the catholic doctrines are equally false. also im not trying to be preachy i just love talkin about this stuff :)
