Oh yes we all know that song!!! Another great video my friend! You know I will visit when they go this Nov.. but I may visit there before then.. not sure yet. Am looking to get an RV in a week or so and make my way back for the reunion back east!! We will see how it goes. Thanks for the vid Rex and keep safe man!!
Hi Rex, I was thrilled to see your video and your passion for the limo. I have recently posted a video of the limo in action named "Binion's Limo". The history of Binion's is incredible, should be a landmark. Thanks for a great video.
Hello good buddy! I am glad you liked the video. Thanks for the video response. Anytime Oscar Goodman is there I like it! I think Benny and Oscar could have been very good friends with each other. :)
Sorry for my absence, busy life and recently recovering from Hurricane Ike. Maybe I should've gotten out and taken more pictures but there's probably enough of that on the Internet (I don't know, I just reconnected the PC today).
Thanks Craig. Welcome back to YT and I am sure Hurricane Ike gave everybody heck! So goes it in Houston. On a clear day, 7 inches of rain in one hour! And a hurricane is even worse! Imagine! Take care and don't work too hard. Hurry back! :)
I bet that has already been done before and maybe in that car. This guy was surrounded by the Mob. A lot of people have gotten a ride to the desert and never come back. No telling where that car has been! :(
Annet likes this video. I like it too! Thanks for passing it around. Baker Street! :) I don't listen to this song when I am driving or I will get into trouble. haha
Cool. If I am not mistaken, Cook Street is the Baker Street for your city of Honolulu. If I were there I would be hanging out at the Hilton Hawaiaan Village and venture out each day. I like the islands. I named my German Shepherd 'Kona' as on the Big Island. Kona was a good dog!
Kona is a good name, and my grandpa used to live there i believe and when he was a teen he experienced the tsunami up close twice in one decade, he has many stories. i go to the hilton because its nice and for its open pool to the public. i will get back to you on that "Cook street" because i've heard of it and but its not ringing any bells i will check a map and reply beack, thanks!
I should take advantage of the dreamworld a lot more often. And I very well may start doing that. I have plenty of time. No rush! There is a street of dreams here but I am afraid that it is a bit x-rated. I could take care of that in the editing department though. Ted Binion met his girlfriend on the street of dreams and it was the death of him. RIP ( Ted was Bennie's son )
Interesting lyrics here. I wonder what city this song was written about? Is the singer from Houston? I remember the song but don't know anything about the guy who wrote it.
"This city desert makes you feel so cold
Its got so many people but its got no soul
And its taken you so long to find out you were wrong when you thought it held everything."
You zeroed in right to the heart of the matter. So many spend their time searching for the opposite of what they have. Curly haired people want straight hair and those with straight hair want curly hair! Something like that.
I looked into it just a little bit. Baker Street, I think, is for the street that Sherlock Holmes lived on in London, England. That is my guess! Just a little trivia there. lol :)
Thanks for watching. I bet anything that Conway Twitty would have loved to sing at the Las Vegas Hilton. I bet he would have been just as good as Elvis. Jerry Lee Lewis would want a crack at that too. The place would be rocking!
Very cool Rex, and the little I know of Benny Binion's history, that song rings true, he kept saying in another year he'll be happy... he really was over the top but that's Las Vegas lore for you, he fit right in. Fantastic car, with all that went on with the trial and his estate,I'm a little surprised it didn't just end up in the Imperial Palace car museum.
The car has probably been back and forth several times depending on who could make use of it. The Binions were a colorful part of LV history. Benny was the only #1 in the family. The rest trickled down.
What an amazing car! No point trying to negotiate our roads here in such a car! The Golden Nugget looks cool too, they were working on it when we were down there last year, I guess they finished it! Gold Diggers, is that a nightclub?:)
That "Limo" (thats a limo, cool!) really emphasizes the life style of Benny, and the look of the cowboys and high life of the men who owned Vegas and ran the Gambling Halls all lined up in the Desert oasis!
Really nice car(love the Horns is it a Dodge?, lol), Fremont street is amazing and Binion's Horseshoe is cool and is strict Gambling and home to poker! but the Golden Nugget is the Best! The Tank (pool) is very unique and nice! 5* Good Music I love it! What does the title Mean?
Thats one nice looking Cadillac! Thanks for the info! And of course who wouldnt like the Horns! Well i hope they are fake, if not its still True Las Vegas Cowboy Western style, lol.
I thought it was "Grab life by the horns" (Dodge)lol, but it does look like a Cadillac!
Bennie was a good business man. Once somebody robbed the cashier. The robber ran away. Benny carefully aimed his pistol as the man ran down the street. Bullseye! Smack in the back of the head! True story!
also, ich schreib mal auf deutsch... :des is Saugeil....^^

Any word on Gerry Rafferty's condition or whereabouts? I heard he checked himself into a hospital in August, then disappeared mysteriously.
