  • Harvard University put on record August 2010 that there have been no increase in free global carbon dioxide in the air says levels fell at the end of the little ice age. Carbon dioxide levels track the wax and wane of plant life on earth. It determines the amount of life their ears on earth. More carbon dioxide, more life! Not more carbon dioxide in the air! This only happens in natural ice ages

  • The limit to life on earth is available carbon dioxide for plants to take in to do photosynthesis. In the last 200 years free carbon dioxide in the air has not increased for crop yields have! Man made climate change was fiction by nuclear power and the stupid

  • Photosynthesis metabolises carbon dioxide! The world has been cooling since 1998. Global warming was rubbish contacted by nuclear power and its paid stooges-plants here

  • @JonThm trees and plant life eating carbon dioxide isn't enough to handle the amount of co2 were pumping into the air. stop trying to use scientific jargon to foothold your conspiracy theory. if anything the oil industry, which is the dominating industry, has incentive to plant stooges against global warming awareness

  • @JonThm photosynthesis metabolises carbon dioxide... how is that even relevant? Photosynthesis remains the same. man I would continue but the data is there, you lose by default.

  • I suppose this study debunks one of the largest myths around, namely that the little old koch brothers somehow manipulate science.

  • Ok this is rubbish, a study to check for "global warming" OK the planet is heating up so.. there has been a study for the "warming of the globe" which proves "global warming" which then still proves NOTHING!!! it proves this planet is warming up x amount of degree , SO the question why? maybe they should receive another grant from a refined petroleum company....

  • @brother776

Whatever may cause global warming, you still have the problem that it's getting warmer. There has been a drastic incerease in carbon dioxide concantraion (about 320-385 ppmv from 1960-2010). Human caused CO2 emissions are about 130 times more than volcanic CO2 emissions. Considering the close correlation between CO2 concentration and temperatures, and CO2's greenhouse effect, this is by far, the best explanation for global warming.

  • In the Jurassic age the fossil fuels had not be a form. Yet there were natural ice ages. GW is fatal fiction on behalf of nuclear power. Prof Wolff shed go back to eating virgins!

  • you are a liar who are the 97% of scientist that say it is directly from humans??? this is al gores agenda your boss you know.

  • @imcrazy85

Sorry to say, but it is an overwhelming majority. If you knew how science worked, you would not put your money on the denier horse.

  • @jeb31415 i do know how science works pal. i saw al gore and congress having an argument and congress called out al gore and called him a lair poor al had zero proof. after billions of years now hahaha you are funny. there is nothing conclusive except that there is no conclusion so shhhh lol

  • @imcrazy85

If you understood anything about science, then you would not depend on Al Gore to teach you about climate science. If you barely passed your high school math courses, it baffles me that you fancy yourself an authoritative judge on complicated questions in climate science.

  • @jeb31415 you are a degenerate fyi i will be 30 very soon so my highschool might be rusty youre right lol you are so dumb hahaha. i dont depend n al gore just the many scientist that congress had there saying there is no evidence of this human climate change :) again put a cork in it shhhhhh

  • @jeb31415 wheres your proof dumbass its that simple :)

  • The carbon fuels formed at the end of the dinosaur age. When the natural ice ages! Global warming and climate change are PR fiction by nuclear power!

  • I can't believe there are still people who think global warming is a scam... Maybe they still don't believe in the theory of gravity either.

If we all work things out for the planet and it turns out global warming was a scam, we would have created a better and healthier world for nothing, geez what a waste of time...

  • ... holes in the ozone since when people ... what sheilds this planet from deadly radiation???.. it was not designed to hold in deadly radiation ... people you can no longer be paid to be blind deaf and dumb ...

  • Plants have metabolised all mankind's additional carbon dioxide over last two centuries. No possible effect on the weather. Which has been cooling naturally for 14 years

  • this "global warming" bullshit is a scam to employ carbon taxes and similar government regulations to hurt self-sufficiency. unsurprisingly, "green" companies are coincidentally trying to cash in on it by selling their crap on this unfounded basis.

  • ever heard of the ice age? its happened quite a few times and will happen again....

  • @jiiub Gee I guess since the climate changes naturally then humans can not possibly affect climate. Similarly as fires start naturally man can not start fires. You've made me see the light.

  • @WaxItYourself the graph is abit more bent with our effects from cars and such, but have you ever heard they tell people that these effects has happened so many times before? no they just say its our fault that this happens so we should stop eating meat and other stupid stuff that wont change anything in the end, an ice age is coming and nothing will change that, maybe even our heating of our world will help us when the cold arrives.

  • @jiiub Look at the causes, Look at the effects. Look at the ecological responses. Mass extinctions occur too. They will occur in the future. We do not have to help them along. Yes, I pay attention to science journals. We know ice ages have occurred. they are the consequence of Milankovitch cycles and related atmospheric and oceanic feedbacks. What you're argument consists of is "Well it's happened before so why should we care?" Foolish.

  • @WaxItYourself change wont happen by the small means they are pushing today, this event is huge, no amount of less driving or better fuals will help, something massive needs to happen, and until the world gets that and stopps throwing money at the crap they are doing today and starts working on realistic Terra-forming alot of people will die when the times quickly change for the worse.

  • @jiiub and goverments dont care, they are bought up in so many ways and dont cater to the people, ACTA is currently being pushed through the EU without anyone telling us about it, they are censoring the world and no one knows its coming... people dont care and i wont live when it happens so i dont care.. its life and im living it. and with huge countries like the US where 80% think they go to heaven when they die and will see it as a sign from god, and dont even believe its real, why care...

  • @jiiub Terra-forming? We don't need to terra-form the planet. Ice ages are caused by the relation of our orbit with the Sun. The increase in current temperatures is due to increasing greenhouse gas concentration, mainly CO2. The increase in atmospheric CO2 is less than half of what human emissions are. You don;t even seem to be arguing the same thing.

  • I live in northern United States, very close to Canada, and we have some of the worst winters around. Most winters, the average day consists of a foot of fresh snow piled on the snow that was already there, and a windchill of around -40F. Right now, it's 50F with not an inch of snow on the ground, and I went outside wearing a hoodie and jeans today. It's been like this all winter long. Global warming is most certainly happening.

  • @kmerrill4444 And it's actually REALLY cold where I live.

Makes me thing that global colding is coming.

  • @kmerrill4444

I would take your comment as some kind of souble sarcasm, because if you really doubted global warming for that reason you mentioned would be really shocking, meaning rather your argumentation than your opinion itself.

  • @kmerrill4444 meanwhile in the rest of the world, there are record breaking cold temperatures. Just ask China.

  • @Chuckernut5

"there are record breaking cold temperatures. "

Which fit with global warming actually.

  • If this is going to be used to restrict civil liberties, raise taxes, and discourage industries from coming to the U.S. due to carbon restrictions or having to pay for carbon credits or w.e - then we might as well just say fk global warming and go about our day. But let me know, how much change are you all willing to accept to try to offset global warming? Id really like to know.. What would you reading this personally accept as a means to offset gw.

  • @A801506 Just look at Europe or Denmark, many nations are giving up old traditions and are stating to use renewable resources with out hurting their economy, It's just that America doesn't like change and when something so small starts to change many people complain. Here in Europe we don't let big companies control us, like McDonald or other big oil companies we restrictions and we are fine.

  • @gato123452 They are far from fine.

  • @gato123452 not sure what you mean old traditions... the last couple decades has seen denmark surge to becoming one of the most (if not the most) prosperous country in the world, and it is almost entirely to do with oil discovered off its coast and it becoming a leading oil exporter. european countries that have instituted cap and trade policies have seen major problems with achieving realistic economic goals while staying true to the cap and trade scheme.

  • ...In 1958 the United States had completed six high-altitude nuclear tests, but the high-altitude tests of that year produced many unexpected results and raised many new questions...Hockey stick controversy tempurature begins to increase 1958

  • LMAO its laying on the floor.....

  • Photosynthesis has increased life on earth over last 200 years. But there is no more carbon dioxide in the air today than there was after the ending of the little ice age

  • Global Warming confirmed as a Goldman Sachs Wall St Carbon tax scam!

  • The late Jurassic there was 65% more life on earth are various today. Then the dinosaurs died and no life on earth formed the fossil fuels. Plants can take in all the carbon dioxide we can give them, as this was wants to life on earth! Sea levels were 60 metres lower and the world had a more temperate climate. There were natural ice ages then!

  • They were right, but he was still right in being a skeptic. That's why science works; someone is skeptical, runs an unbiased experiment with reasonable uncertainty, and comes up with a result. Any solid result is a win for science, regardless of who ends up being right or wrong.

  • @Pierce188 "Faced with this embarrassment, those promoting alarm have shifted their drumbeat from warming to weather extremes, to enable anything unusual that happens in our chaotic climate to be ascribed to CO2. "

  • High school biology teaches that green plants metabolise all the available carbon dioxide down to two parts per 1,000,000. And have done since the little ice age.

  • @JonThm

Plants rot most of the CO2 they absorb back into the air.. crops too, only a tiny fraction ever gets absorbed into soil.. it takes hundreds/ thousands of years.

Humans now produce more than 100 times more CO2 than volcanism (previous biggest source) Look it up.

    Seas are at saturation too.

releasing millions of years of buried CO2 in decades.. considered very likely to cause big climate change by most/all climate scientists. except those employed by Exxon in USA oil & coal states.

    Think.

  • High school biology teaches that the limit to life on earth is available carbon dioxide in the air for photosynthesis. There is no carbon dioxide which is not used to create new life on earth.

The Harvard University has put on suns record that there is been no increase in free carbon dioxide since the ending of the little ice age. But there has been an increase in crop yields. Go reread your biology textbooks from when you were 14!

  • High school biology teaches you that photosynthesis sinks all available carbon dioxide. As you were taught age 40

  • @JonThm no they dont "sink" all available carbon dioxide they use what they need... like people and oxygen. by clearcutting forrests the governments are destroying the plants that do use up carbon dioxide resulting in more carbon wich is heating the world up...SCIENTISTS have already figured this out there is no need for ur bullshit.

  • Plants metabolise all the available carbon dioxide to create new life. No builder of carbon dioxide in the air is possible-high school biology!

  • Photosynthesis controls the level of carbon dioxide in the air. Which has been static for two centuries

  • @JonThm

You don't expect anyone to believe your ridiculous lies do you?

  • According to 100 leading American scientists the world has been cooling for for teen years. According to Harvard University has been no increase in carbon dioxide or so last 200 years. Instead an increase in life on earth

  • The world has been cooling since 1998-according to 100 leading American scientists. According to Harvard University there has been no increase in free carbon dioxide in the air for 200 years due to the effect of photosynthesis. Mind you, or that hotter from climate pundits must have had some effect!

  • The natural climate has been cooling for for teen years. What drunks is this guy:on?

  • @JonThm In 2010, global average temperature was 0.53°C (0.95°F) above the 1961-90 mean. This value is 0.01°C (0.02°F) above the nominal temperature in 2005, and 0.02°C (0.05°F) above 1998. WMO 2011

  • Yeah, Muller you're kind of a moron. How can you be so skeptical after ALL of the research by so many scientists over so many years? For a scientist your evaluation skills suck.

  • The world has been cooling naturally since 1998. This figure was produced by a stooge to nuclear power

  • Global warming is true

  • Green plants have metabolised all mankind's additional carbon dioxide. To form extra life on earth. There is no more carbon dioxide in the air today and there wasn't the end of the 18th century

  • This is nothing but misinformation

    Plenty things could happen

I could win the lotto, i never do

Thinking i could win the lotto should i spend the money now?

Well i could win the lotto so shouldn't i count on it happening? Of course not!!!

None of this is based on proven science.

    It is all hypothetical.

Since when do we make disicions based on hypothetical scenarios.

We are better and smarter than this!

We need to look at the people who claim these things, and why they are claiming them.

  • The natural climate started cooling for teen years ago air. Global warming pundits are paid by nuclear power

  • The climate models are not actually models you know they are spherical crystal devices that when hands are laid on them a swirling mist reveals what will be happening in the future, failing that the backup system is used which employs a china teacup and some old fashioned tea, not the baggy stuff and voila predictions that would have as much bearing on reality as a climatologist riding the train of plenty.

  • Global warming is nuclear fiction and has nothing to do qith God: I am an Anglican

  • Before the fossil fuels formed at the end of the Jurassic Sea levels were 60 metres lower than today. 65% more life on earth. But they still have natural ice ages

  • @dunemoonbeam3

Still, it saves you money being green.

  • @Trustisaliability Yeah. Solyndra saved me money and so did Siga Technologies.

  • Climate change is a biological impossibility. Garden is a matter of faith!

  • Well being "scientist" is broad term. You have to be in that specific field (such as climetologist) to understand and really say anything about it and also have peer rewiew papers to back up your claims. :)

  • There has been no increase in free carbon dioxide in the air for 200 years due to the effect of photosynthesis. Guy is a quack!

  • @MyJonJonify But certainly god exists.

  • Due to photosynthesis there has been no increase of carbon dioxide in the air for last 200 years. Global warming was fiction from nuclear power and its paid stooges as here

  • fuck the energy & utilities conglomerates/lobbyists, they just twist and turn to instill doubts into body of facts about global warming so they can pay off their mortgage... just like how they did with smoking...

  • Carbon dioxide has been static for 200 years. No global warming is connected with man

  • omg please ..Im aware of right wing propaganda but modern day man made global warming is absolutely false is the earth getting warmer yes........is it because of man made pollution from a span of 200 years what would change the climate of the entire planet when naturally its a process that takes hundreds of thousands of years...im not saying that we should pollute and still use oil, but that "man made" global warming is an unproven science.

  • Photosynthesis has produced a static level of carbon dioxide in the air for 200 years, as life on earth has increased

  • Green plants have metabolised all man is additional carbon dioxide to form extra life on earth. There is no more carbon dioxide in the air today than there was two centuries ago

  • Thanks for the $150,000 sucker!

  • I still don't see why people bother denying global warming etc.

Don't people realize that being environmentally friendly saves YOU money.

Less gas usages = less gas money, recycling = cheaper packaging AND less landfill tax.

  • @TubManInSpace Look, I'm an Economist, not a environmental scientist. The so-called solutions for your global warming will implode the manufacturing base of the world. Taxes, Regulations, these things are toxic to economies, especially the 3RD world, do you understand that? Hundreds of millions will die and are dying, they need to develop.

So okay, If you're right and this is such a catastrophe and that's the consequence, than fine. Just understand the human consequence.

  • @lovedalord88 - There are several potential solutions for the human contribution to climate change. The cap-and-trade policy (which is a conservative policy suggested by economists in the Reagan Administration) allows companies to buy credits to go over a pollution limit. They can avoid the need to buy by staying under the limit. Not that it makes much of a difference since the energy industry is a price-maker cartel that does whatever it wants with prices whether or not there is a tax.

  • The global weather has been cooling for 13 years. By a new thermometer!

  • Photosynthesis limits the free carbon dioxide in the air. Man has just increased life on earth.

  • I don't think anyone denies that the climate is getting warmer, the problem is blaming it all on Co2 and demanding de-industrialization. Co2 mimics the temperature changes in Earth's history because as the Earth gets warmer, natural sources of Co2 rise, like from the Ocean. There have been times past where Co2 was many times higher.

Please understand green people, your policies will KILL the third world, simple as that.

BTW, I started off agreeing with Al-Gore. I just kept an open mind...

  • Man is but a cancer on this earth, we pollute the oceans, decimate the forest, make extent thousands of creatures, pollute the atmosphere.

We are consumed by greed and self interest, those few who try and make this earth sustainable, will be ridiculed by these greedy bastards and called do gooders, greenies. socialist, communist, tree huggers, intellectuals, hippies the list goes on. Theirs no hope we are "DOOMED"!!!!!!!!

  • @2porangi Yeah, but I still don't want you guys to go extinct. This planet is more fun with humans on it.

  • Global warming was always fiction from nuclear power and its paid stooges as here

  • 100 leading American academics so the world has been cooling since 1998. Harvard University said that due to photosynthesis there have been no increase in average global carbon dioxide for 200 years. Instead an increase in life

  • Photosynthesis has consumed all mankind's carbon dioxide for last 200 years. They can be no rise in global carbon dioxide. Only local rises which have no impact on the weather. No matter how stupid you are

  • Carbon dioxide is consumed by green plants

  • Climate Minister buys a castle

He is the climate change minister who pledged to ‘lead by example’ in the fight against global warming.

But Charles Hendry is facing accusations of hypocrisy after buying himself a 20-bedroom castle – with a potentially massive carbon footprint – as a second

How much does the Geo-Engineering program which has been going on for years contribute to the so called Global Warming BS

  • Photosynthesis heats carbon dioxide. No rise of this gas in the air for two centuries. Global warming nuclear fiction but about by the stupid as here!

  • @BioCapsule Yeah you're right, but at the same time we're killing other species :(

  • Some people on Hansen's own team disagreed with his conclusions. STOP quoting the 97%. That poll said nothing about greenhouse gases or that warming was permanent, dangerous, and caused by man.

  • Photosynthesis converts all the carbon dioxide into additional life on earth. No weather effect possible. That is all lie from nuclear power and its paid stooges

  • There global climate has been cooling for 13 years. Where effectuées the in a data from?

  • The global climate has been cooling since 1998. Buying a new firm or metre. And stop taking money from nuclear power.

  • @JonThm 'The global climate has been cooling since 1998' Rubbish. Watch the links below. Skeptical Science dot com has also debunked this argument.

  • Tell you what, when Exxon Mobil, Chevron, BP, ConocoPhilipps and Royal Dutch Shell are covered with regulation and taxed into submission I'll start to take 'man-made global warming' seriously. Until then, the Rockefeller foundation, Soros and the Rothschilds can f*ck off. Who's been funding this movement? Exactly.

  • Regardless if global warming is fact or hoax: Hands down, oil and nuclear could not compete with clean energies when you factor the true cost of them. Like Subsidies they been getting, the wars we been in (yes for oil), the pollution they have produced that will effect generations. The government has to insure nuclear power plants because no insurance company would! Green energy is getting cheaper all the time and has the potential of producing many, many USA jobs.

  • Muller never was a sceptic. He is a PR flim-flam man. His BEST project has turned into the butt of jokes because they made some elementary errors with the data that should have been caught well before submitting their research for peer review... Even Muller's co-author Judith Miller is distancing herself from Muller's comments. Read Steve McIntyre's website to get the juicy details.

  • @scarabmango More ignorance. Science is never 100% certain. Scientists fully realize that there are inaccuracies in the models, and they have ways to minimize the margin for error. They take samples from more than one place, you know.

  • @agelessrocker Atheists believe nothing came from nothing from something? Uh, no they don't. There's a reason why the universe was formed, but humans don't know everything yet or we wouldn't have science, would we?

  • @unforgivingreality Really? Did you suddenly forget that GOOGLE exists? pathetic and lazy. Inexcusable. You should be ashamed. I can't post links here, you lazy, ignorant dipshit. Go do your own research, it's right there for you to GOOGLE. The only conspiracist here is YOU and your reality-denying assclown conspirators.

  • @scarabmango Unsurprisingly, another denialist who doesn't know his science. We know what previous atmospheres were like due to ice cores, some dating back as far as 500,000 years ago. We get temperature from foraminifera fossils shells, made of calcium carbonate. We compare two oxygen isotopes ratios, which differed depending on temperature. Carbon has been verified to be a greenhouse gas which does cause warming. It has nothing to do with religion. Please do your research. Thank you.

  • @demdanglibruls And ice cores mean you know with *one hundred percent* certainty what the atmosphere was like back then?

  • A) Carbon emissions go up.

    B) Earth's temperature goes up.

B happening because of A? Has yet to be proven.

And all this has been measured for, what...the infinitesimal speck of time that humans have been able to do so?

    Yeah...I'll pass on that religion.

  • @scarabmango B is happening because of A because the specific way the Earth is warming has the fingerprint of increase due to increased GHGs; such as the lower atmosphere is warming while the upper atmosphere is cooling, and the fact that nights are warming faster than days

  • On your last comment: Muller was not wrong to be a skeptic; he was wrong about climate change. There's a difference.

  • Just look up, they are spraying white chem trail lines in the sky everyday, everywhere, its a last dicth effort the cool the globe, the elites know we may be too far gone already.

  • There not skeptic,s There LIAR,S, < , & quit stupid,,eg American,s do not believe in metric,, PRIMATE,S They actually believe in deity,s, lol & old fashioned 19th century Left ,right politics lololol FUCKIN MONKEYS Oh fuck it ,lock the door and buy a gun ha ha ha

  • Professor Dickhead just wanted $150,000 Hey! koch sucker,s ,give me a shed load of money & see what l come up with,, lololol

  • @invaliduser1000 Why are you calling him a dickhead? Koch Industries funded his research and he came back with th truth... which happened to be precisely the opposite of what the Koch Brother wanted.

  • @CraigMetalHead Climate change was evident and known since 1977, 1977 1977, ,And what year is it now, Took us 11 just to get Kyoto , Yet this DICKHEAD denied & lied for 34 years, making our job harder, His actions are disgraceful, Thank god his not my medical doctor, I,ll be dead by now

  • @invaliduser1000 Oh, yeah... no denying he took his sweet time getting to what 97% of scientists already knew.

  • This was even reported in Murdoch's Australian broadsheet "The Australian" today. It was, however, buried at the bottom of a page near the end of the paper.

  • for those not open to change, science is not immutable.

ever read Lewis Thomas's Humanities and Science?

the way we teach science makes it seem like it will never change (AKA 97% of the scientists), and thank god there are 3% that actually have the courage to question the norm. Please respect their research and don't be so ignorant as to renounce something just because it is different from what you believe in.

  • why is the weak mainstream media not covering this? oh yeah, because it is weak.

  • Good stuff to the physicist for not sticking his bias into the study, True scientist to actually tell the truth

  • I was once a republican and a global warming denier. I grew up and realized I was brainwashed by my parents and fox news.

  • @Tactic11 welcome to reality

  • @Tactic11 Takes a lot of guts, good for you man.

  • Is none is reading about the coruption of the koch brothers? Just google their names will take you 2mins. They will support anything they can make money from, be it taxing people for C02 - which is the most retarded thing i've ever heard of. C02 is at an all time LOW of '0.039%' (taking into accout there was a time it was 30%) Factoring in "global warming" was supported by polar bears dying because the ice is melting yet their population has increased insanely.

  • @Trev0010 I dont doubt that cutting down trees etc is having an impact. but when you look at what the REAL source of impact is (not people driving around in cars but oil companies + other) who decimate the landscape to make money. The very people you pay C02 emissions to ARE MAKING MONEY FROM OIL or something else that is 1000x more damaging- this INCLUDES THE KOCH BROTHERS. So i'm saying, ask what the agenda is before you are sucked in and read BOTH SIDES.

  • @Trev0010 There is even a video responce to this one that just shows how retarded they are 'Dangerous Koch Bros Pipeline Leaks '

  • @Trev0010

I don't see the point of your tirade. The point of this news story is that the Koch Brothers have spent millions creating "think tanks" to deny global warming and all of a sudden they get a real credentialed scientist to be their puppet and he doesn't play ball releasing his actual findings undermining their nefarious plans. Its not about CO2 ppm compared to millions of years ago, its about how fast its changing now. Its called a positive feedback loop, do your research.

  • @Trev0010

Yes, let's look at the real sources: Oreskes 2004, Doran 2009, Anderegg 2010. Three studies on the scientific consensus. 27 international science organizations, 19 national academies of science, and 11 federal governments have all signed the AGW consensus. Where are you getting this that vehicular CO2 emissions don't matter which account for 5.23 metric tonnes of CO2 per car per year (EPA 2005) and there are 255 million cars in just the U.S.(U.S. Bureau of Transit Stats 2008)?

  • @Trev0010

I also take issue with your unsubstantiated claim of an "all time low". Cite that please, because there are several ice ages and mass extinctions with lower CO2 ppm levels and one period particularly where the entire earth may have been frozen over and the oceans turned to slush. That period is the all time low for greenhouse gases.

  • @Trev0010 The way to make money is to provide things to people that they want and need. Helping people get what they want and need is good. If anyone dislikes any business, for any reason right, or wrong, it is your free choice to buy from them, or not. Because it is everyones free choice, the rich become rich by the actions of the people. To cry about the results of what people voluntarily choose to do is silly.

  • Muller reminds me of Professor Irwin Corey!

  • Please don't refer to Global Climate Change Deniers as 'skeptics'. I'm a skeptic and that means you follow the EVIDENCE wherever it leads. Deniers are the opposite, they hold on to their (wrong!) position in face of overwhelming evidence that global warming is happening, and is man made.

  • @UnkleSi Please look at my Global Warming blog on my Channel. I show that the man-made global warming hypothesis has been grossly exaggerated. The IPCC's own basic computer-generated equations and formula lead us decisively and unequivocally to the conclusion that a doubling of atmospheric CO2 (assuming it is all human-induced) will cause no more than 1C of warming, as opposed to the alarming 3C that the IPCC have trotted out to scare the populace. CAGW has far from been proven, let alone AGW.

  • @UnkleSi There is a definite difference between deniers and skeptics though. Deniers rely on illogic and dishonesty, and you can instantly identify them by their sensational rhetoric. Richard Muller, on the other hand, simply said that the level of certainty the evidence provides didn't meet his personal requirement to justify belief. He then went out and did tests and accepted the claim. There's nothing wrong with that.

  • @TMOvids Good on him for gathering his own data and having the courage to admit he was wrong. Credit to him.

  • There's one thing off about what Cenk's saying. The Koch scientists wasn't wrong to be a skeptic about global warming/climate change. Skepticism is how the scientific method works. What he was wrong about was whether or not there is climate change.

  • you cant say anythink about global warming if you just look at a 100 years. its to short. temperature goes up and down for ages. and btw Humans have no influance on it. what we produce in gasses in 200 years a single active vulcano emits in a single day. global waring is natural and you cant stop it. live with it.

  • Ha Ha, The Koch Brothers Plan totally, totally, totally, Backfired in their fucking Faces!

  • All the planets are heating up by the way. Not just earth.

  • @unforgivingreality Numerous polls, scientific journals, and scientific reviews have shown consistently that 97% of climatologists agree global warming is real and exacerbated by human activity. This is not in dispute. Try harder next time. Unless you're accusing the entire climate world of a vast conspiracy, you don't have a leg to stand on here.

  • Really starting to believe there's an alien takeover in place. Seems like a crossover between the right wings "V" behavior, and the relentless industries "The Arrival" behavior.

Even if it's not the case, we're screwed within 100 years. As soon as the bees go, we got about 4 years to live.

  • @OtakuRebel

That's a little overdramatic. Our quality of life will decrease, sure. But we have plenty of crops that aren't reliant on bee pollination like grains. I also question whether the CCD is really as severe as biologists make it out to be. Economically speaking the bee keepers should be gouging the shit out of the farmers, and the insanely powerful farming lobby would be demanding investigation. Yet the farmers are silent on the issue. Its weird.

  • When the human body is infected with a foreign body, flu, cold, etc, it heats itself up to kill off the offending intruder. We've been trampling the earth, plundering its resources, polluting its oceans and fresh water, and just generally destroying it. I am not trying to literally say that the earth is a living being, but the similarities between our bodies purging infections and the earth purging infections (recent human activity) are striking.

  • @shamz0rz I accept global warming - because I have taken the time to comprehend much of the data, as well as understanding the whys and wherefores of denialist rhetoric (and found it containing nothing more than "hot air") - but, come on, Gaia?

    Puh-lease.

  • @steveb0503 Perhaps you missed the part where I said "I'm not trying to literally say that the earth is a living being", which is the definition of Gaia. I said the similarities are striking.

  • @shamz0rz Actually I didn't, my gripe was on "principle", as it were. As pattern seeking beings with an overactive propensity to ascribe intention to the patterns we inadvertently find in all things, there is a danger in carrying an analogy too far.

Anyway, you seem like the kind of individual that prefers actual insight to bold-faced assertions, so I will recommend a book I recently read that will provide a few intriguing insights to the "Gaia hypothesis":

Complexity: Life at the Edge of Chaos

  • @steveb0503 I wouldn't exactly say there is any danger in finding a correlation between ourselves and the earth. It's just a harmless observation and I can't think of any possible downfalls from a simple comparison. As for the patronizing and condescending second paragraph, I really have no interest in the Gaia theory, the earth is obviously not a living being. I give the Gaia theory as much creedance as hollow earth, or reptilians, or any other obvious nonsense humans have come up with.

  • @shamz0rz Forgive me, but there was no condescension intended.

I was actually trying to be helpful in suggesting the book - while it lends little (if any) support for the formal hypothesis presented by Lovelock and Margulis, it does present a sort of "Gaia light" version very different (but intriguing) from theirs. It's actually worth a look for several reasons beyond that one anyway - but, do as you see fit.

  • Oh my God...the earth is a half of a degree warmer now than 30 years ago!!! Likely mostly due to Al Gore's fat ass and beard.
