Yeah, given the footage in this trailer and how the game actually is now, it's clear that they still hadn't finalized a lot of the story line as of the making of this trailer. You see the same thing happening in a lot of movie trailers too. It's likely the original story line was so long and complex that they needed to trim it a bit for the final version.

You do realize this was added over a year ago so it was probably an early trailer. If there is a sequel then no one knows about it but Nintendo and from what ive read the creator wasnt to happy with the sales thinking people arent looking for an adventure game so much on the Wii, especially in Japan so who knows.
