Critics in 1961 didn't understand this masterpiece. Clark Gable had just died and there was a pall over the movie. Seen today The Misfits is a revelation.

Kudos to Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift, and Director John Huston who made us all understand these lonely people.

To those who claim the divine Miss Monroe could not act run Some Like It Hot and Misfits back to back. An Artist Billy Wilder correctly nailed it when he said Marilyn Monroe was second only to Garbo.
