I accidently stumbled upon music like this. And though i am into metal and hardrock i really do love this. And man, do i love her voice! Awesome. I can listen to her over and over. And next to that she is also mighty cute..:)

Sylvie is a great singer and a amazing performer. she has a great voice she was quite young here its overly critical to judge her by this, and she use to have stage fright. shes had a 50 year career so i guess her "awful voice" is working for her.
regardless of what anyone says, she can sing. and she can definitely dance, watch some of her 70s shows.
Excellent!! Sylvie's lovely & natural...looks & sounds fine!! It confounds me that people criticize her voice. Yes, she has a lower voice & though she's no opera singer she is on pitch and does a great job. if you don't like it, watch something else.
@surfercrow - She has a nice voice, but she is pushing it downward to reach for very low notes. It is not naturally low. She's charming and sings very much on pitch, but it would be nice to hear singing in her natural range.
I saw her live in 1963 with Johnny Hallyday on tour. She is exactly as I remember, sublim!
Mababaki: remember, in the early 60's the "sound" on stage was basic with small amplifiers, often no return, no mixing. Let's see if today's artists could do better with the same conditions? I don't think so!

She does in fact have an awesome range and can push her voice to great lengths on different tunes.

Me too, I think "Locomotion" can´t sound good in French language, me as an Austrian would not even hear it in German ...
Although there is a lot of songs which sound great both in French and in German, "Le Moustique" for example ...
