While modern music is busy dissecting itself in order to exploit a certain niche for capital gain, the rest of us saner people can relax and enjoy this timeless art.
Wonderful passacalio. I think that Harncourt sneaked this piece, or rather parts of it, into his recording of Poppea: I think he put sneaked it into the last scene somewhere.
no sabía que el alma y el corazón tenían todavía sitios donde sólo se puede llegar con esta música, en específico con esta partitura. Esto deja el alma mas limpia.
La verdad no encuentro palabras para tanto talento..
Johanna Horvath and Marcus Tapio are playing tenor and bass viol, respectively, not Phillippe Pierlot and Lorenz Duftschmidt... ice recording, though!
Alert viewers will have spotted that there are two women in the group - the viol players are Jordi Savall (treble), Philippe Pierlot (treble) Johanna Valencia (tenor) and Markus Tapio (bass), Imke David is playing lirone. Lorenz Dufschmid was not in the group for this concert, which took place in Lyon, in either 2004 or 2005
I thought this was the St. John's Passion by J.S. Bach at first...

That woman on the viol de gamba on the left looks like she could be right out of a painting. Such a lovely renaissance look.
So much about music is shaped by the sound of the instruments intended for the piece.
Can you imagine listening to this kind of music wafting over a piazza and letting your imagination soar and wander...
I guess now you can.
Thanks to the Hesperion group and Senor Savall.
Gracias por sus trabajos y labores! Que la paciencia tambien le sirva como un labor de triunfo.

sorry, sorry, I'm the one who is fussy about spellings - I meant Duftschmid, of course, even if he wasn't there.
