i draw cartoons with jsut a simple pencil and paper you should make a video of you drawing a pic with that i think it would be cool but reat work with that!
Pretty cool dude. This is great key framing work. You pulled it off close to 10 minutes =) Keep at it.
And also, you're using the music theme from Guardian Heroes aren't you? This is mostly of the conversation the characters have during the text dialogue, good choice.
Thanks for watching and your support friend it is much appreciated. Yes indeed guardian Heroes is an excellent Game with Excellent Music & must not be forgotten like so many classics!
THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS HELPS TONS, i'm starting on my first year of 2D 3D animation in college and this is exactly what i needed to know how to do animations..... it's my way of learning.. =D thank you thank you thank you
I'm very interested in becoming an animator and i found this really cool!I would like to ask you,if you need to have special skills to do things like that! For example someone in my age(16),having the basics drawing skills and learn this program by himself, can he do things like that?
Thankyou for your interest. I would suggest you do not concern your self with computer programs at all. If you are interested in animation as you age and go through college and uni you will get exposure to these packages . IT IS NOT THE PROGRAMS THAT MAKE YOU ABLE TO ANIMATE. you must build a foundation develop your drawing ability. Learn anatomy study from life and books at how the body moves. copy styles you like but secondary to life drawing. Any one can do it! Best of luck!
Hey janos. I studied animation in the UK the course wasn't very helpful. I used the three years to develop learning from books mainly 'Disney animation the illusion of life' and keeping in touch with professionals in the industry so i made sure I was doing the right things. You are thankfully more fortunate than I in that regard as Sheridan is a great place that turns out many nice films and good animators! Best of luck to you my friend!
Quick Question. I have a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch Tablet, is there any way I can modify that annoying Hover feature so the cursor won't move unless the pen tip is pressed?
Dumb question, loved the video by the way, what tool and version of flash did you use? I'm guessing since you say "penciling out" you used the pencil tool... but just wondering haha Wonderful animation, loved it :) I know you posted this two years ago but I hope you still reply!
Thankyou kindly for your interest and comment. I used the standard brush tool on the pressure setting...I referred to the scene as a penciling out because it is just a quick rough play... it would have to be taken much further for it to really become a finished piece of 2d animation.
you use the onion tool for that effect. you can set how far back you want to be able to see the old drawings by drawing the icon so many cells. i hope i explained it simply enough.
Wow thank you so much! I'm attempting tracing paper and pegbar animation, but there is not too much info on this "old" process. Your demo has helped a great deal, and i can see how old school cel animation has informed your process in flash. Great job!
Wow this was beautifully done, I cant seem to handle flash painting to be honest, it's the paint tool your using right? and the onion skin tool over the bits you need?
Sorry just asking cause I'm studying animation myself, and the use of straight ahead is awesome, though I'm learning keyframe and its sorta driving me mad...XD lol
I love it, I love it's fluidity and the hand too that and it has alot of character! Congrats! ^^
Thank you for your kind endorsement Sophie! Yes you are correct I am using the paint tool and occasionally onion skin. The tablet becomes easier once you get used to it (try writing your name over) make bold strokes and dont worry about getting the drawing right it's the action! Practice drawing separately!
This is actually key animation and breakdowns it isnt inbetweened. The idea is if it works well in keys its gonna be great inbetweened though do try mixing straight ahead.Best of luck!
I'm afraid I am not a flash guru! I just use it to play around with character tests...I trace but by drawing on one layer in a pale colour and then creating a new layer and tracing and cleaning over the old layer in a dark colour much like traditional animation. I don't know if that helps...
Hey! This character was just made up on the spot for the purposes of this demo...I would say that maquettes and model sheets have their place but are more for large scale productions where separate artists need to maintain model consistency...as an individual working on a smaller projects it is important to understand your design but model sheets and maquettes are not essential. I never really do it with my personal designs. Thanks for asking!
Hahahaha yes I know this work isn't too brilliant and as shocking as it may seem from looking at it I do declare that I am an animator! Thanks for asking ;)
Thanks friend.I am glad you appreciate what I am trying to do in this clip.I like to mix pose to pose with straight ahead when I animate,as I believe that in life movements are not planned and are spontaneous.Pose to pose helps keep control over the action but I like to let my intuition have a role in the animation to help keep it a little less rigid.I saw your clip and at your age you are doing great! Moving complex shapes around etc.keep it up and Im sure youll attain your desired level!
