@EveryLilThingx You can use disk utility to burn the .dmg file to a dvd, then you can boot off the dvd and install just like the retail disk of snow leopard, however this will require you to erase your drive, so back up everything first (not using time machine) However, if your machine is still running leopard, you may want to check to make sure your machine can even run lion first.
