Intelligence and understanding almost invariably bring kindness and overseing of lesser beings...so if robots where to take over, it is a simple assumption to assume they would treat humans better than we did to ANY pet.

Robots take over? Even if it would be happening (would there be a point to go open instead of remaining covert?), it wouldn't be scaring me in the least. :)

See, humans didn't wipe out all the wolves, they tame some, pet other, and even try to help some survive in the wild. Robots, if they could take over, would naturally see the benefit of developping the humans even further...and nurture to their "pets" as well.

They could wipe some, exterminate other...but overall, it would prolly be a new era of prosperity beyond anything anyone conceive. A good master is better then freedom.

Selfish and evil are very different. All animals are selfish, humans are animals. Been social animal, humans are perhaps the less selfish of the lot, yet it vary a lot depending on the individual.

The benefits could be multiples. Ranging from curiosity, to companionship, to challenges (taking care of any pet is a challenge...the more advanced the pet, the harder the challenge)...and I merely start it.
