Way to hold the the honor of the outfit!..loved this part of the movie..great film and brings back the memories..I'll always love BOB..just not another voice like Slims!
@IncHulkLover I can see why, he kinds looks like a big metal cockroach, with spinning blades for hands. I certainly don't want to shake hands with him! :)
I love this scene. Very funny. I love, Bob reprasenting the old Modell with his damages and wires hanging out und the noise when he shakes. The black robot acts like a to selfconfident cowboy in a bar, doing his silly moves when shooting.LOL. The best is, when the robot get so angry that his circuits explode. LOL. I love these pre CGI-Sciencefiction films. True Masterpieces. The dont do films like this any more.
Thanks I've not seen that since it was in the cinema, it is a classic. I read somewhere a remake was on the cards, but those old style effects cannot be beat.
Why are the robots just hanging out and doing target practice? If they aren't being used shouldn't they just be powered down in a storage room or something?
to the uploader's summary: They're both answers to the then already 11 year old Kubrick classic. Well 11 years old when Black Hole came out, 9 years old when New Hope came out.
@OLDSCHOOLHHSEX he was also in such GOlden oldies as National Velevet with Elizabeth Taylor, How Green Was My Valley, Fright Night, and all of the original Planet of the Apes movies PLUS the short-lived POTA TV show (as Galen).. that's it off the top of my head..
@MeIancholyMan Is that the SAME RODDY McDOWELL who played as the water Hoarder military leader in TANK GIRL & in several Horror Movies?-I thought he was still alive-There is a guy by name of Roddy Something in the TANK GIRL credits-Great CHEESY CLASSIC HUMOR MOVIE=)P I hope its fully uploaded on YouTube=)
@MeIancholyMan I had to watch TANK GIRL again on YouTube,The McDowell playing is MALCOM McDOWELL,not RODDY-Sorry how its been bout 20 years(2 DECADES?) since I seen this CULT classic,Rated right up there with Disneys THE BLACK HOLE & TRON,along with very rare Live Action films using scale models YouTube might not have on here-Movie version of FLASH GORDON cant be beat*Scene where MING the Merciless causeing DALE to feel herself WAS VERY HOT>=)p**
this movie was one of my favorites as a kid, at least until Empire Strikes back first came out...I had a lot of the toys from this movie and a record, I think... looking at this now, it actually (to me) has become so retro that it actually is now pretty cool
this movie reminds me of a space version of 20000 leagues under the sea, special the parallel between Rinheart and the captain of the sub captain Nemo
Possibly the darkest Disney film in existence. I think at one point, they tried to foist it off on a sister company, now Miramax (sp?). But in the end it retained the Disney label.
You better believe it, when I first watched it on DVD, I had terrible nightmares about it, especially the trailer scared the heck out of me, but I don't think it scared me now! ;D 10/10

As old as this movie is it's still very good. The design of the evil robots puts the Phantom Menace's camp droids to shame. Maximillion was one scary badass robot.
V.I.N.Cent and Old B.O.B were so cute.....I saw this movie as a child on VHS from my fathers video collection.....I remember I was so sad and was crying with joy in that scene V.I.N.Cent´s mate Old B.O.B dies and V.I.N.Cent must leave him behind....... :(
Now I have the movie on DVD and this scene still stirs me to tears ;)
The writing, oh the writing... These days Disney, when not doing things like National Treasure, are competing with Nicelodian over fart jokes... Its just money now, back then it used to be about talent also, but nowadays talent is simply considered a waste of time spent from pleasing the lowest-common denomenator.
That's exactly true. CGI has that too-perfect look that you don't find with well-done miniature photography. Some of the lighting and wire work with the Cygnus is really impressive, and the hand-drawn animation of the thrusters was beautifully done. Plus, there's something about the starfields in this film that just seems different and better than what's being produced today. Granted, this movie's not gonna win any acting awards, and it's too kiddie for my taste, but it's still interesting.
