It's already warm in Dawson. But I'm suprised the "winter is coming" doesn't happen until Nov. 1st, as by then in real Dawson winter is already taking a firm foothold by then (Dawson has a similar climate to Fairbanks, Alaska). And the "spring is here!" happens around the time most say "summer is here!" They are calling for 83 degrees for this Fri/Sat and for the end of May that is warm even for a place like Chicago! It's continental so their peak comes sooner (around Canada Day is the warmest).

I recommend watching the 1957 documentary City Of Gold. Also, there are still around 250 active claims being worked in the region. Of course you can drive there or fly nowadays, but good luck finding that gold and getting a lease on a claim!

I laughed my head off at this game's voice acting. At least in the Oregon Trail 1 & 2 they were trying to sound realistic, but Yukon Trail's voice acting sounded like something out of a Hanna Barbara cartoon. Way out of character. XD
You know I've wondered about that too. I've actually never gotten the gold bars before, I've only seen them in promotional shots, so they may not even be available in the game (maybe just if you hit a certain claim?). In theory you could get somebody to haul your stuff by gambling long enough to make the money. You could probably also edit your save-game file, but I suspect the code isn't actually there for it to be possible to hire them, it'd be interesting to try though (probably take forever)
The fat guy was always easy to have when he had all that cash. Although he was slow and kept stopping. Haha god times... Did yours come with that undersea odell game?

I got this game as one of four other games in the "Trail Adventure Collection" from The Learning Company. (the four other games were: Mayaquest, Oregon Trail, African Trail and Amazon Trail) First try looking at some of the abandonware sites listed on my user page, if you can't find it there, I'm sure you can still buy a copy on places like eBay. You could probably also edit your save-game file, but I suspect the code isn't actually there for it to be possible to hire them, it'd be interesting to try though (probably take forever)

I had a package like that, but it also came with Exploring Yellowstone, not the Oregon Trail.

Thanks for posting this by the way. I only played Oregon Trail and a little bit of Amazon Trail, but I wanted to know what Yukon Trail is like cause I never played Yukon Trail. Now I guess I don't have to play it =D

I got this game as one of four other games in the "Trail Adventure Collection" from The Learning Company. (the four other games were: Mayaquest, Oregon Trail, African Trail and Amazon Trail) First try looking at some of the abandonware sites listed on my user page, if you can't find it there, I'm sure you can still buy a copy on places like eBay. (it looks like there's about ten or so copies on eBay at the time of this posting)
