I think that anyone majoring in political science, communications or education in college should minor in an engineering program or get a BA in political science, communications or education and then get a BS in an engineering program (whether it be bio, chem, electrical, computer, nuclear, mechanical engineering, etc), because I believe by in large liberals shy away from the scientifically rigorous programs then pretend they know what they are talking about when they discuss these subjects.
but the bottom line is that the oil producing countries have us "bent over a barrel" so to speak. With Odumbo "wanting" gas prices at $4 a gallon. This is the biggest national security concern in my opinion, yet no one seems to get it. we must break the oil dependency wether it be nuclear, or whatever means neccessary. we must be energy independant.
So the summary of this video is that bananas should be used as starting blocks for the principles of nuclear reactions. I for one think this will turn the poor African countries into dangerous banana powered republics overnight.
@dave97202 I am 100% behind the idea of Thorium reactors. The problem unfortunately is that there is at most maybe a handful of engineers in the country who would know the details of how to build one, other than the gross theory.
I wish there was a nuclear reactor near my city. Then I could avail myself of the insane stupidity of the vast majority of the human race, by purchasing a really nice piece of land to live on near the reactor for peanuts, the land value of course being depressed by it's proximity to the reactor. I actually understand the risks and the numbers. You certainly would not catch me living anywhere near a coal plant however, that's for sure.
I live in Quebec, Canada, and in here, artists and left-wing fear mongers have stopped the exploitation of shale gas, and i don't know when it's gonna resume. Artists havec also a way of stopping hydro-electric development. We did it before you! (not that i'm proud of that)
Toxicity is dosage. Most mouth-breathers don't understand that and assume any exposure to anything 'toxic' is bad for you and/or will kill you. Unfortunately junk science prevails in the media.
I heard yesterday that GE made the Japanese reactor. Hooray for GE's engineers, the thing has withstood an apocalyptic earthquake and being deluged by the ocean.
We need ADULTS in elective office, who will not overreact, and will get out of the energy business.

And they say the right wing is the fear mongers! The left absolutely could not exist without constantly scaring people with nonsense. Here we see once again who is really trying to keep us all scared, and who is showing true intellect and reason.
@enochg The Left always, always, always needs a crisis. We're at war with Eastasia. We've always been at war with Eastasia. We're allies with Eurasia.

I'm now heading to have a banana split!

Thanks guys! There is risk in everything. That's no reason to ban it. If that were the case, no progress would ever be made. We'd still be caves!
