  • Slade awesome....was brought up on them & this one especially reminds me of my granny who is no longer here...everytime I hear it a remember her

  • This song was a minor hit in Sweden at Christmas time in 1984. I remember, cause my parents gave me the single as a Christmas gift (cool parents or what? :) ) Anyway, it's still a great song, so MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!! Love from Sweden!! Rock on!

  • Still the greatest band

  • Another great Slade power ballad with the perfect mix of melodic piano, strong vocal, memorable lyric and some excellent lead guitar. I do prefer My Oh My but regardless this song still hits all the right notes. Sadly, Slade's last UK top 20 hit. Once 7 Year Bitch followed, it was sadly the beginning of the end, despite Slade giving it their all.

  • łezka sie kręci.pozdro z Wielkiej POLSKI.żyjcie wiecznie.

  • I LOVE SLADE! this song brings back some happy memories and besides slade ROCK :-D

  • I had almost forgotten about Slade until I heard a band try to cover run runaway, so i thought I'd revisit some old friends. thanks for the memory

  • Best Ever !

  • Damn fine song.

  • omg this song reminds me of old days when we were young :), this song always makes me happy, and makes me realise how fun it used to be :) SLADE ARE THE BEST!

  • Irrespective of last comment this is utter commercial shite - Slade did good stuff - but like most got caught up with the scam!

  • @jon3m2007 I don t agree, this is no "commercial shite" otherwise it would have yielded big commercial success, but some managerial squabbling prevented that. This and other songs from the magnificent Rogues Gallery album are very brilliant and pure songs from the highest calibre of songwriting, the matter how much other commercial crap was outselling Slade at the time. Slade are one of the best and most diversified bands ever, however very underrated, especially their eighties albums.

  • Absolutely AWESOME..Brings back happy memories when bands wrote there own songs and didnt pump out shit like we have today..Thank fuck for Youtube.

  • @madtubevids

Plenty of manufactured pop shite back then too, and plenty of bands writing their own stuff now.

I think its just the television having gone massively crap where music coverage is concerned gives a false impression that music is worse now than then.

  • GODDAMN!

  • Does anyone know what equipment (amps, effects) Dave Hill used on this album? His tone here is immaculate. I know that he used John Birch guitars...

  • I like the way he's basically swearing - "Brahms and Liszt" - with such a friendly smile on his face!

  • slade and there music awesome then, now, and forever nuff said

  • Now THAT'S how you push someone off a piano!!

  • Been a Slade fan ever since I heard this tune on the radio back in '84(?) Good job on the piano Jim!

  • Have the time of your life when you're

    younger

Have the time of your life when you're old

    HERE AND NOW!

  • Buffing GREAT! Thank you! A cool idea for a video. Is that really John Otway? Anyway, this song is up there with My Oh My and Everyday. Noddy Holder is officially a Cheeky Chappie. :)

  • Certainly one of their very best.

  • great song and great video, especially when the whole

    band comes in...cheers

  • just for fun.....who's the guy playing the piano at the beginning of the video.

  • sorry, as i'm from australia i don't know who he is, but you can tell me if you like, (maybe the guy from sparks without the moustache?)...cheers.

  • At least you had a go..Its none other than John Ottaway, Jim himself had no idea who it was either, until he was told afterwards.

  • o.k. who is John Ottaway?, i have no idea ( i feel really dumb right about now?)...cheers.

  • Actually, it's JOHN OTWAY
