you are so lucky to still have the 4000 we had it until may of 2005 when the xl took over. the xl lasted us only 4 and half months then we got the intellistar
Here in Kingman, Arizona, we had the 4000 until 2005 when we got our IntelliStar. I was hoping for an XL, but they jumped straight at the new shit. :/
And I have DirecTV now, so I've never seen our IS ever since V2.
The Weather Channel fixed all of the degradation a year or so back. It was very horrible and getting to the point you couldn't read some of the forecasts, so we got a loaner 4000 and then a week or so later we got our old 4000 back and it looked brand new!
u are soooooo lucky to still have the WeatherSTAR 4000, my cable company upgraded to XL in mid 1999 b4 upgrading AGAIN to the IntelliSTAR. The last time i saw the 4000 was in Febuary 2000

What's the local weather ID for this 4000?

Jrs and 4000s do not have Local Weather IDs
jayhawk29 4 years ago
Sure they do. You should see it at :57 past the hour on the upper right part of the screen.

Mishaboy is right. Only the IS displays it on the LDL. It displays when your cable provider pops up on screen.

So where do you record these real Weather STAR's you see now? I see you have a Jr and 4000? Do you record them from more than 1 location
