He has been my inspire. Ever since Fred Rock. My dream was to work with Muppets. That was one of my motivation to get English. To having English made my life so much richer. I thank and admire him for ever and ever. Now as a mother of 8 years old daughter, she loves Muppets. They will be living in us genelation after and after.
Mister Henson, your passing left a void in our lives. Now your creation is in the hands of the Mouse. It could be worse. At least it wasn't the Bunny.
Jim Henson was one of my heroes all my life and such a kind and talented heart. This is one of the best tributes I have ever watched. Beautiful job. I remember he passed away the same day as Sammy Davis Jr. who was also a very talented man. Jim's death left a void that will never be replaced...at least for me. 20 years later and I still cry over his death...now that says something about a person to invoke those kinds of emotions from people he never met.
this is the most beautiful tribute i have ever seen, i'm getting rather coked up myself, and i nearly lost it when i saw the picture of Jim and Richard with their awards, i guess since the world is missing two wonderful people and they left this world around the same time. R.I.P. Jim, R.I.P. Rich
Today May 16, 2010 is the 20th anniversary of Jim's passing. I miss him more than ever! Thank You Mr. Henson for so many years of laughter, learning and love!
I feel in many ways I owe my life to Jim Henson for ceating the Muppets, and Sesame Street. Because me being autistic starting from an early age, seeing those shows along with Disney cartoons got me to talk and eventually overcome my disability, back then I had it bad. But now I'm a creative comic artist and storyteller and I hope to inspire people the same way he inspired me.
Jim Henson was simply one of the treasures of the world. He was one of those rare geniuses who produced timeless material of equal appeal to children and adults. His wit could be twisted enough for teenage boys and compassionate enough for grandmothers. Some who die young had given what they had to give. Others, like Henson and, I think, Jim Croce, were tragic losses because so many of us were so eager to see how they would continue to grow and create. "Hey Cinderella" deserves to be a classic.
In times when the world needed him, he was a better role model than anyone I've ever heard of. If I venture to be one of those assholes who pretend they know famous people, I would say he was like a father.
Are you trying to say Aids? Henson died of Group A Strep. A condition of Strep is pneumonia and eventual organ shutdown. Essentially it was advanced Scarlet Fever that destroyed him. Aids was never part of the picture. Ads, well, I am not even sure what you mean by that.
i watch this video often to remind me to stay a child. there are so many bad and disgusting people in this world but it makes me so happy to know there were beautiful and innocent people like jim henson in the world. i could go on and on. the picture at 2:00 is overwhelming.
very beautiful video. the pic at 2:46 is very sad, to realize that a friend to the world is gone, he was the person who had the greatest impact to us, and to our hearts. We will always remember him, Rip :( ( and yes the video made me cry)
This is a beautiful video, The song does kinda go with the video. I miss him alot, I wish he was still here that way sesame street wouldn't be diffrerent like cookie monster not eating cookies anymore. He was such a good person. When I first saw the muppets, I loved it right a way. The muppets raised me you can say, and Jim 2. RIP my friend, we'll miss you. :((
Jim was a genius. I remember that first scene of Kermie riding a bicycle in the theater. At the time, it was the most amazing sight for an 8 year old to see.
Beautifully done. Jim Henson brought so much joy to so many of us! I grew up watching Sesame Street on PBS and the Muppet Show Thursday night on CBS. Great Job!
I was born in 1986, so I did not get much of Jim. But at the same time, I remember him so well. I don't remember much of my life before I was three, but I remember watching Seseame Street and the Muppet movies. Jim was the father to my generation. And I am so sad he didn't get to live longer so people younger than me were able to experience his magic as he did it. Goodbye Jim. We all miss you
He's resting now, he finnally can rest. All the gifts he has given us, he deserves the time. Thank you Jim Henson for everything we love you and we thank you for the gifts you have given us. May you rest with the angels. 8(

He did do The Dark Crystal. I think he even wrote the screenplay for it too. It's a shame the movie didn't get the respect it deseved when it first came out.
You've brought a lot a joy and laughter to many children Jim. You made me happy as a child. An now even in death you make my own (an many other) children happy still. Your lovable characters are so timeless they are practically immortal. R.I.P.

I would venture a guess that he's just a homophobic troll, to be honest.
Jim Henson worked with many gay and straight people, and would be apalled at such lack of respect.
