  • Beautiful! Lovely arrangement. Very nice playing. I'd be honored if you checked out my version.

    Thanks you.

  • Great playing !

How did you video tape this ?

Such great quality picture and audio.

    Thanks !!!!

  • Thanks for the comments. The tape was made through a camcorder - nothing special - except the Martin guitar of course!

  • Beautiful! :-)

  • I see you are a Judy Garland fan - her versions and mine ccomplement each other I think.

    Mike

  • I think so, too.

  • out of this world! thanks for playing these classic tunes on youtube for all to enjoy.

  • Thank you - it's made easier by the beauty of the tunes. I take it you have searched on LYDIAT to see some others I have here?

  • yeah, my personal favorite is Carolan's Lament... it is a touching piece.

  • I am particularly pleased with Carolan's Lament - it's my own arranegment and did you realise that I named it? In the collections (eg Donal O'Sullivan's) it is part of an un-named section - just called Number 172. I also think I may have invented the tuning - CGEbGCEb - which I call Double Cm.

  • actually i hadn't realized you named it... thanks now i should be able to find it on the website :D

  • Carolan's Lament is Tune 172 on my web soue page osullivan4 - or look for the link O'Sulivan 151-200

  • Many thanks for this. Really enjoyed your performance at The Wigan Folk Club on Tuesday.

  • Thanks - I remember where you were sitting (in the corner) but of all the Wigan members yours is the only name I can't find!

  • Judy Garland sings this beautifully. There are several versions of this song sung by her on YouTube. The best is of just a phonograph playing a 1947 Decca recording. Listen to it.

  • Stephen - merci bien! Indeed this is a beautiful version of a beautiful song. I also have it sung by Deirdre O'Callaghan - sounds more Gaelic than Judy does.

  • I was just watching Little Nellie Kelly. What a beautiful song, and this was great.

  • Beautiful rendition of a great traditional tune!... 5*

    cheers,

    luca

  • Many thanks to all of you for taking time to comment.
