red faction 1 was better. I think if this was the first red faction i would of enjoyed it more. but after playing through its superior first installment I had very high expectations and was very let down. The reviewer is right by this point fps games for most people need a good story and some puzzles to break up the shooting. clearing room after room of enemys without even a good story for a motive to keep doing it gets boring.
I would say the game is filled with variety, flying spaceships, diving underwater, fighting in urban environments, offices, recording places, labs, catacombs, graveyard. I don't know maybe it's my nostalgia speaking, but in my humble opinion the PC version isn't that bad, I just love it, the music I LOVE the music, probably FPS's just moved on indeed, but what are you going to do? :)
Red Faction 1 is still my favourite RF game. The second one was disappointing to me, though it did have a nice multiplayer. Guerilla is not bad. Armageddon I bought the other day but haven't played it yet.
I actually found this game constantly reminded me of the Quake games on the PC, simple layout, simple premise, simple everything for the sake of fun. I could swear some of the character models were ripped right from Quake, overall it was unimpressive but the boss fights were imaginative at least.

For the record I prefer this to Timesplitters 2, where the story mode is incoherent with regards to story and art. I like the more serious tone of Red Faction.

Eagle eye vision? i was 11 years old and completed this on the hardest setting. It was such an amazing game. Don't put it down :(
