  • nice train!

  • Can/will you produce these in HO please?

They look fantastic! Kudos for mass-producing these and Kudos x 10 if you produce these in HO!

  • I must echo the sentiments of many other HO modelers......please consider making this set available to us HO scale modelers.......

  • Ive been a lifelong HO scale fan, and i own many Kato products in HO scale, but i started model railroading with my son, a new modeler, and he preferred N scale, and when Kato announced it was releasing this set in N scale, that was the deal maker, i pre-ordered 2 sets from my local hobby shop here in illinois. The Metra set fills a void in model railroading as these pieces ar very hard to find in HO. We now have a large roster of Kato N scale products, great job Kato.

  • Looks so much like the real thing!!! I've gotta buy it!!!

  • You def need to make these in HO scale!!!

  • Are you going to make an HO scale version of this?

  • Oh And Will There Ever Be A Metra F40Ph In The Future As Well!?!

  • PLEASE KATO! Make an MBTA set of the new MBTA MP36! With bi-levels, it will be so popular, and no other company has made any MBTA products in HO scale since the comet coaches back in the late 90s. From a boston modeler, i can tell you people will pay big money for ho MBTA model trains.

  • Very Nice train. I got mine in the mail a few days ago, and I have to say it has really great detail on it. The Marker Lights are a very nice feature, You guys should come out with more Metra Cars. Or possibly a Metra F40PH or F40PHM

  • Just got these in the mail. Very awsome product!!. The marker lights are a very nice feature, you should come out with more Metra cars so I can run a Metra train set, like the ones that go by my house everyday

  • quick question. How long is this set from loco to the cab car connected?

  • @Autovomatic Around 24-25 inches long (5" MP36, 3 x 6.5" cars)

  • CalTrain version of this in the future perhaps?

  • You guys should come out with a NJ TRANSIT since no one else makes them in N scale. That would a nice set to be made for the jersey rail fans!

  • I have this set and love it. I hope you guys will come out with 3 or 4 cars add-on sets to make the train longer. Great Job Kato! ;)

  • Super nice set - I saw these at iHobby Expo, and bought two sets the first day they were available. As per usual Kato - the quality is OUTSTANDING - super smooth runners, razor sharp paint and graphics. They run smooth as silk. Great job guys - keep 'em coming! Maybe one day you'll do a Santa Fe Blue Goose 4-6-4? Thanks for posting!

  • Are you planning other paint schemes? A GO Transit MP36PH would go really well with Athearn's GO Transit Bombardier Bi-level cars; they sell them alongside an F59PHI (which GO never used) because it looks somewhat similar to the MP36PH.

  • @espyr Other paint schemes are definitely on the cards. We've already announced VRE versions of both the cars and the locomotive, and have more paint schemes on the cards for the locomotive that may very well align with some of the other style cars out there from other manufacturers.

  • So is this Metra train on the M1 track? If it is I am shocked to see those cars handling on radius curves this tight. I am impress Kato! Now to see if the wife will buy me this for christmas... any ideas how to accomplish that?

  • @Autovomatic Yes, it's on an M1 track oval. The best I can suggest is to offer a gift in-kind; does your wife like shoes?

  • @KatoUSAinc Yes she does... I already have them picked out lol!

  • Awesome train. But please don't stop producing HO scale stuff. There's alot of roomers going around down here in the Southeast that KATO is moving away from HO for good.

  • @Grumpy7783 We are actually just shipping our latest release of HO GE AC4400CW's right this moment, and on top of taking pre-orders for SD90/43MACs coming out near the beginning of the year we should have some more HO product announcements next month.

  • @KatoUSAinc It would be neat if yall could produce Norfolk Southern SD40-2s in the Soaring logo scheme. I'd definetely buy a couple or more.

  • I hope u guys can make a HO scale Metra MP36 and Metra bilevel set like that

  • @METX611 We'll see how well the N scale cars do. If they turn out to be a wild success, we'll certainly look at other scales.

  • @KatoUSAinc Do you typically do more business in N than HO? I don't know how much sales in N scale correlate with those in others. I would really like to see these in HO scale and it's a shame that whether or not they come to HO scale depends on the success of a scale I don't model. I love the RTA bi-levels you produced in HO and these would be a great upgrade to those, seeing as those cars have been out of service for at least a few years now since being replaced by the new cars.

  • combining the music from the driver 1 video game and trains is a super awsome fit..great job!!..btw when is kato planning to make these in HO scale?

  • I love the trains since i grew up riding the train with my mom and sister. I have been looking and found it and it looks great.

I was also wondering, when are you going to make the powercab locomotives?

  • very nice detail on your set!

  • Looking good! You guys have to relesase this in HO Scale

  • Any plans for HO scale?

  • Nice using the menu music from Driver (For Playstation 1).

    See /watch?v=FDKGEvmVQDw @ 3 minutes 30 seconds.

And is it me, or do I see Gamera in the background? That turtle shell at 1:53 is a dead giveaway.

  • @ShadowFox550 Thats exactly what i thought too lol. Glad to know I am not that old yet lol!

  • This Would be just GREAT if it was HO SCALE, N Scale is way to small for me ! ! !

Thank You Kato for making the MP36 & Bi-Level cars.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, great set. Yes, more cars. Yes, release an N F40-PH Metra. Kato rocks.

  • Great set... need more cars and most of all, please release a N Scale of the Metra F40PH-3. That would be fab! Keep up the great work!
