the problem with this track is that the originals had white singers with much higher and smoother voices, so when you expect to hear something like the original, than it sounds weird and out of place to an extent. But that happens with many people covering songs that are not written for their vocal range.

Well as someone who has done a lot of engineering.

I think a lot a lot of people dont realize that live is a hell of a lot different than a recording where you can fine tune it to perfection.

I think this girl has really captured a lot of live energy, sings well and is doing a great job,obviously Chicane knows that , but certain people are ignorant of the vast difference between live and studio.

So if you dont like it, no need to insult...just listen to the original "RECORDING" and be happy.

@hjmann I totally agree with you. This is Chicane Live. I love Natasha's Vocals. I have been to many live concerts and it always sounds different to the recording. That's what makes live music so special, it's the realness of the music being performed in from of you in either electronic and or instrumental format.

@CzechRiot No there haven't; before autotune it was impossible to make a really bad singer sound great. In the past record companies went for looks >and< a good voice. Nowadays the voice isn't needed and a lot of the looks can be done by makeup artists, but not all of it. The completely mainstream music industry is a fake.

And Rihanna a great live singer? Are you deaf mate? And have you ever heard Fergie live? I have and it wasn't too pleasant.

Hendrix was a great guitar player, but he did not always play great live either.

I have had extensive live playing experience...from the late 60's on, so I know a bit about this stuff, I started programming way back in the Atari days and engineering, composing etc.. from then on.

This is not a black and white situation, nothing ever is.

Hendrix is just a matter of opinion; some think he was great because of the experimental sound, some think he was just plain tonedeaf. I think Hendrix wasn't a great musician, but he was a crucial element in the history of music, forcing a breakthrough for experimental artists. Deep Purple and Pink Floyd on the other hand were great musicians as well as revolutionaries.

Well as a guitar player I would respectfully disagree, Hendrix was not a great alternate picker, or even sweep picking etc... but he was very organic in his approach to phrasing, but on the the other hand Ritchie Blackmore is a very stiff guitar player, but Deep Purple did have some good songs...and people are influenced by this.

Dave Gilmour is good tho, but not particularly amazing in a technical sense, just a nice solid player.

Thats just my opinions of course.
