This video is funny whether you like Octahedron or not. Personally, I love Octahedron. Waiting for 'another De-loused' is impractical. Bands progress and albums reflect these transitions. De-loused was great (no doubt), but songs like Ouroboros and Day of the Baphomets, along with albums like Octahedron prove The Mars Volta have a lot of great material left to offer.

The first TMV album i listened to was The Bedlam in Goliath. I liked it. of course De-loused and Frances the Mute were better, but the bedlam is one of their best album. I prefer Bedlam to amputechture and i haven't listened to Octahedron so far.

I didn't get this album at first...I wanted another deloused...therefore I was let down. After 1 year I busted it out again, and it was a completely different experience. I am so glad I gave it another listen without any expectations. It's a great album.

Octahedron is a more sentimental album to me... it strikes me more emotionally than all the other albums... i don't know why.. but the way i interpret the songs... they remind me of my past and whatnot. The lyrics are awesome. Octahedron. Fuck yeah.
With Octahedron they show that their "fascinating ideas" for Rhythms and Chords also function if played a little bit slower. After all, listening to them now is much more convenient.
I would have to say every album that comes out touches upon new territories. The true meaning of progressive, and never at the expense of sounding bad at any time. I like every album almost equally, but Frances more simply because of its depth in experimentation and fusion. TMV are simply beyond anything else out there IMO.
At the time I kinda rejected this, but know I feel this was the right album to make. Grew on me - acquired taste indeed!

I also want Jon Theodore back, I liked his style better than Pridgen's (no offense, you are a great drummer, Thomas Pridgen...). But I think with Octahedron they are on a good way. I like it, it's a neat Prog album if you ask me. It doesn't has to be always that hardcore like before.
I prefer Pridgen, but I guess that's irrelevant :P.
Although I do prefer Pridgen playing Jazz, than playing with TMV!

Dude this video almost made me pee in my pants. I don't remember the last time I laughed this hard from a youtube video. The only reasons we won so many battles is becuase I was listening to TMV! XD. I love all their albums but frances is actually my least favorite, I know I'm wierd. I listen them all depending on my mood though.
I personally love all their albums. I've loved Deloused, I loved Frances, I really didn't like Amputechture as much. But I personal think they really stepped it up top notch in Bedlam In Goliath. Thomas is an amazing drummer laying out 32 notes everywhere. The album start to finish is pure craziness. Almost every song is epic. The contrasts between the different sections of the songs are outstanding and unexpected and the concept is the best! That's just me though.

Definitely one of the better Hitler resubs (especially the MTV comment to Anna at the end), but both the last two albums really grew on me after despite initially dismissing them.
I disagree with everything said, so I'm glad you used Hitler. Octahedron is incredible. De-Loused after De-Loused sounds great in theory but that would get old. Every album is different which is what sets them apart from everyone.

I think that he spends so much time trying to feel free of the others people minds that he forget the every thing in the human being is made in society. Its great to think by your self, and is great to belive in something without care what other people think. But the humam being is a social being.

Dude this video almost made me pee in my pants. I don't remember the last time I laughed this hard from a youtube video. The only reasons we won so many battles is becuase I was listening to TMV! XD. I love all their albums but frances is actually my least favorite, I know I'm wierd. I listen them all depending on my mood though.

I personally love all their albums. I've loved Deloused, I loved Frances, I really didn't like Amputechture as much. But I personal think they really stepped it up top notch in Bedlam In Goliath. Thomas is an amazing drummer laying out 32 notes everywhere. The album start to finish is pure craziness. Almost every song is epic. The contrasts between the different sections of the songs are outstanding and unexpected and the concept is the best! That's just me though.

Definitely one of the better Hitler resubs (especially the MTV comment to Anna at the end), but both the last two albums really grew on me after despite initially dismissing them.

I disagree with everything said, so I'm glad you used Hitler. Octahedron is incredible. De-Loused after De-Loused sounds great in theory but that would get old. Every album is different which is what sets them apart from everyone.

hahaha this was really good, i love every album the mars volta has released, but its still funny. i just wish other TMV fans werent such musical snobs. it doesnt matter what type of music it is, if you like it, great, if you dont, that doesnt mean anyone who does sucks. it means they have different musical tastes than you have.
