  • egypt the mother of the world

  • thanks, i kept seeing these "male" belly dancing, and I asked, is it a homosexual thing. then i went to wikipedia and it said men and women do it. then i found your video. thank you.

Now i don't feel so weird belly danging LOLOLOLOLOL I do it for exercise. I don't have the woman parts to really shake or move. but it's great stretching and burn calories. everyone should try it.

  • @shakaama Actually you have all the muscles and skeletal structure necessary to do all the moves, check out some of the other videos in my collection and you'll see men can and do use the same moves. This style of movement is inherantly African and is related to other dance form found across north Africa and down into East and Central Africa. From Egypt this style of movement migrated from Africa to the Eastern Mediterranean countries. Check out my African dance playlist.

  • FUCK ALL EGYPT PEOPLE

  • @halim7889 what's your problem ? why u hate them ?

  • Wooow thank you for this interview :D I loved it, and it was so great listening to it :D Greetings from Norway

  • Very interesting !!Thanks for sharing!

  • Tito Sief....start with him...great male dancer

  • thanks so much for sharing such a beautiful culture, Art is art in any language, I am Mexican living in California and as a student of Flamenco and Bellydancing for 7 years I do appreciate all kinds of bellydancing but my favorite is egypcian, I wish some day visit at the dance convention! :) i want to learn more<

  • hehe I didn't know who was the creator of this video from "6969aaaaa" but as soon as I heard the voice, I knew it was you Tarik! Awareness is key. It seems like America is the only culture that doesn't seem to understand this phenomenon of dancing when the music moves you.

While watching the beginning of this video, my uncle walked in and heard the music and immediately started dancing. And the movements of his body were bellydance. We laughed together, I clapped when he was done. Yalla

  • i love the belly dance and love your videos..i love egypt and egyptian people..having lived in egypt and worked there its now in my heart and soul..i pray one day soon to return to live forever..HELWA YA BALADY...thanks so much for posting all the videos ...the belly dance egyptian style is the most beautifull dance in the world...and so is the music...THANKYOU :)

  • Thankyou so much for posting your fabulous videos. I have just discovered your chanel today. You are such a generous soul to share so much information. I have been studying middle eastern dance for 7 years in Australia and it has been an interesting journey that has only just begun. I am strongly drawn to Egyptian dance, your videos and comments affect me deeply and reinforce what it is that I love so much about this dance. Please keep doing your thing, the word needs you!!!!

  • @l4n9 Thank you so much for your encouragement. God willing the next time I'm in Australia I will met you!

    Love and light

    Tarik

  • @l4n9 Me too! This is exactly the information you need to do this genre right!

  • Thank you for taking the time not only to make this video, but to share it as well:) Really refreshing to see dance viewed and talked about in this matter. Reminds me of watching my grandmother and family dance back in Jamaica. It's about the music, movement and joy. Not labels, or stereotypes of what something is or isn't.

All the best to you:) Love is the word!

  • I appreciate your efforts to educate and expand the western concept of bellydance beyond the cheap Orientalist attitude. It's very sad that people here have been conditioned to experience the dance as a passive act of voyeurism rather than an active experience of communal spirit.

  • I think its hot to see a man dance like that.

  • i think is great because most of the people believe that egyptian is only belly dancing and is always related to women, never to men

  • @rivillas10300 egyption dance ( belly dance ) is for women only

  • wow..thanks a lot. we need more videos like this on youtube. I wish everyone who doesn't understand will watcht his.

  • toxmot, if I could, I would give you a "thumbs-up" every ten seconds for your comment! :D I have such a high respect for 6969aaaaa and his continual efforts to educate others about bellydance. I hope he makes more of these vids.

Thank you for your open mind and for your wish for everyone to watch 6969aaaaa's vids. :)

  • I love this. Really great video!

  • This is very educational. Giving the world a look from within. Thanks for sharing.

  • This is excellent. Thanks so much for sharing it!

  • FABULOUS. I'm going to link to it from my web sites.

  • Very nice video, interesting really. thanks (Yalghadban) for sharing.

  • Very nice!

  • great

  • The president of Egypt = Gamal abdul naser in the 60's he Supported the Algerian Independance movement from France and the Civil war in Yemen. He statation tropps in Yemen at the time before 1976's Egypts war with Israel. When you have alot of Egyptians in Yemen they also learn our culture, just like when you have Americans in Iraq the Iraqis learn the american culture. etc

  • Sweetesdrug93-Thats because in the 60''s Gamal abdel nasser supported you in the Civil war.

  • nice video, and i think this is a really nice video for a guy, GREAT BELLY DANCING BY A GUY.

  • I love this video, interesting!

    Chris belly dance

  • "the heat of the sun affects us somehow"

    *lol* :D

  • Wow! I never knew that before! Thank you for posting this video. It was really interesting!

Really before this I have never seen a guy belly dance before. It is really cool!

  • Thank you so much for sharing.

  • Why is it that every time someone leaves a dumd ass comment like this on one of my videos they ALWAYS turn out to be only 19yrs old?

  • Don't be mad dear sultan, there is an old chinese sentence: a frog in the well can only see the sky above the well.

The world is so big, there are so many different culture, but if in one country people only care about their own "culture" ,and judge the other countries with their standard, they are those frogs in the well.

  • I'm not upset. I just wish they would be more original. Its the lack of intelligence I find annoying. Shows a low level of education.

  • if they are more intelligent they are not frogs any more, frogs are frogs ,they won't change, because they haven't seen the big sky. Forget about those people, there're much more people who love egyptian dance and repect your culture.

  • Sadly I didn't get the gift of belly dancing. My mom is half Dominican half Egyptian. Brooklyn Native. I dance to a lot of things, but belly dancing is not my forte'. I want to visit Egypt so bad so I can see a part of where I come from. 6969aaaaa this is a good video. I'm so into Egypt, its crazy. I have the flag and a few pictures of Pharaoh in my house. Egyptians are the shit. VERY beautiful people.

  • aww how sweet honey if u need any help im here ...im also half Egyptian but i usually say im full Egyptian ..its a good pride , i went to egypt i dance Egyptian i have alot of experience so ask me and i will be there for u to help

    Salamz

  • omg im half too! dad born and raised in cairo!

  • your dame kewl

  • Thank you :-)

  • That's very interesting about South Yemen. Why is that? I'm still learning about that country. I recognize the music and architecture, but know almost nothing about the rest of its culture. So many beautiful things in the world to see, so little time!

  • he is so right. i am half egyptian and also a dancer and i am completely self taught. people ask how i dance so well and i have trouble explaining to them you just hear the music and your body know what to do...its a deep expression. and yes, i dance at home:)

  • I think you'll also enjoy the video I made explaining how Egyptians learn how to dance. I'm glad you took the time to look at some of my other videos because I think now you'll get a better perspective of what I am trying to get people to understand. I did a really nice one in Luxor also.

  • Great interview

  • Thank you for allowing me to share.

  • Hy there 6969aaaaa, remember me? Cool and good video!

  • Remember? HOW COULD I FORGET! :-D

  • yes, Egyptian males also move with the fluidity of a snake and can move their hips better than many women. If you want to see the origins dance in Egypt than read Ancient Egyptian Dances by Irena Lexova. You will see that throughout their history they did do ballet and acrobatic movements as well as shimmies..

  • This is by far one of the best belly dance videos I have seen so far on youtube. Thank you so much for sharing and a very special thanks to the Egyptian man who so generously shared his views.

  • I just added this to my favorites, too - it's refreshing to hear someone speak the truth about the music and dance, and I deeply appreciate your posting this and other videos, Tarik.

I'd love to see some clips from weddings.

  • I'm saving this to my favorites and passing it on to students and friends. You do more in a 8 minutes than I can do in a year! Thank you!

  • This is fantastic. I hit the accept button for the friend request, hopefully it worked thanks!

  • Anytime, you know you are always VIP #1 in my book!

  • thank you for posting this conversation with this egyptian man. I lived in Egypt my self for 6 months and i got acquantied of the naturality on how egyptian people dance without any lessons, man and woman, but this kind of testimony is necessary so others understand the nature of it

  • what is the song called where the guy starts dancing?

  • man, you are the best, masha'Allah! shukran for everything you do!! Shukran!!!

  • This is great. I am Arab man, love bellydancing no matter if it is female or male, if they are dancing well it is great thing. Good interview here.

  • Hey ethnic, I tried to add you as a friend, give me a messaage. Thanks for your comments.

  • I just loved this interview. Thank you very much

  • great proofing bro tarik..! ^_^

u know.. its smart move of u to take the opportunity and till the ppl that is not just for women..

    peace!

  • When ever you read some information in a book, or even someone's website about the dance, they always get it wrong. Its all fantasy and no dact. They only focus on the stage performers, but fail to realise that what they se on stage only represents 1% of all the dance in the Middle East. They have no idea that this is really a folk tradition and that is a shame. That's why I put out these videos to show the real side.

  • I love your educational videos! Keep them coming please :)

  • Thank you for posting this! I get so sick and tired of reading the disgusting homophobic and sexist comments made whenever someone posts a video of a male dancer.

  • ahmed adwia :: YA BENT ELSOTAN :: allah aleke ya sahbi

  • Bizabt ya ahuya!
