You play a faceless, pilot with no name and the callsign Blaze. And yes you can give all of your wingmen different planes, they don't have to have the one you have.

u can give ur wingman different aircraft and the protagonist is urself with a callsign named "Blaze"..

so originally, the player-characters nickname was supposed to be "booby"? Kinda makes sense, a sea bird with reputation for not being all that bright. I think it would've been more entertaining than "kid".

You're not supposed to engage the recon aircraft (the one that Chopper adresses to). Just wait till you get a mission update telling you to intercept enemy fighters.

I agree we need more fighter combat movies.......but more on war as opposed to experimental aircraft like in the movie "Stealth"

true. Only combat movies I loved and actually truely know of is Top Gun (which is fake combat using actual tactics and air craft) and Stealth. But I personally think this would make a really good movie.
