I believe with enough will power, you could totally learn by yourself.

I suggest learning as much vocabulary as you can while learning different grammatical structures. If you want, I've pulled together a bunch of websites that could aid you in learning Japanese, which I saved on my Live Binder account. I could send you a link of you message me about it :)

It's been out since december of last year, give them time to translate. And there'd be no reason no to; they could promote this shit out of this with Level-5 developing the game (Dragon Quest IX) and studio ghibli doing the animation.

They fucked this over for the U.S. Now its only getting released on 3ds and its all in 3d crap instead of this version. God I hope someone will release a translation patch for this. :(

It's like they're releasing all sorts of versions of this game...DS, PS3 (looks different than DS version...more expansive and such) and now 3DS?

But it IS pretty much Ghibli Studios first game, and I don't shun them for trying to reach an audience in every gaming corner (doubt it'll ever make it to the 360 though lol).

Patience :) Level-5 is working on I'm assuming two Professor Layton games atm (trying to translate them into English) and they're coming with a new Professor Layton (vs Phoenix Wright) game. But I'm sure they'll get to it eventually, especially since this is a Ghibli Studio game.

I understand what you mean. I can't read most Japanese kanji (but I can understand Japanese) so I can only play games that have furigana (hiragana over the kanji) so that I can read the kanji too.

This is for the DS, not Wii. But I believe it said that this game will also come out on another system (obv wii) but it hasn't confirmed yet, to my knowledge.

I was suprised too. I thought that since the Layton games and Ninokuni is already on the DS, that it would be another Nintendo system. But then again, Level-5 has had games for the PS2 (Dark Cloud). And Ghibli might've wanted to be diverse and not so...narrow minded, to please all of their fans as well.

Also, if I may correct you, at 1:25 I would use Mach instead of Mark. Mach is much more common for a name to give a racecar.

Actually, Oliver's friend's name is Mark, so I assumed that it was Mark who fixed up/made that car for Oliver. Also, you see someone pulling the sheets off of the racecar (that is Mark) since his shirt is red, and in the official Ninokuni website when you look at the characters, you see Mark wearing red as well. So I assumed that Oliver was telling Mark that the car was amazing :)

Yeah I thought that at first too! And have you played Professor Layton's Curious Village/Diabolical Box? (made by Level 5), their cut scenes look like it's from a movie. And the cut scenes from Ninokuni looks like Ghibli's movie scenes! The quality for the cutscenes look GREAT :)

Level 5 is known for Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2, Dragon Warrior VIII all on PS2. In addition to those Professor Layton games on DS, they also released a pretty good strat/tactics RPG on PSP called Janne D'arc. They have a new game on PS3 called White Knight Story, but the US release date isn't until next year. :(

I mean seriously, did you see that one big city in Tales from Earthsea? I totally based off most of my game's city maps off of the design of that place. Friggen beautiful.

Actually, I was opposed to Ghibli making a game...UNTIL I FOUND OUT ABOUT NINOKUNI.
