I didn't know that MMA was legal in Oz - I remember when UFC got some press in Australia in 1994 or so there was a big stink about it. Has MMA always been legal?
unfortunatly Justin (XFC promoter) has the rules set up for Strikers. It is based on 5 x 3 minute rounds to keep the fighter resed and running at 100% as well as to assist in a Knock out.
Personally I love all aspects of MMA the KOs and ground submissions.
Unfortunatly not many people here in Aust know about the ground game and don't have the patients for it either

@ezyroller it is legal but in some states, fighting in a cage is not

@DanTGF Victoria has a ban on the cage, other states allow it.
Many shows use a boxing ring maybe because of expense and startup costs
