great show.Cassie always had that beautiful free spirited thing going for her on Skins.BBC Skins is a truly fantastic show.There was no way this show could have last as long on America tv as the original creation, which lasted longer on BBC tv.

I'll watch BBCAmerica occasionally for some comedy I don't already have on DVD, but I do so under protest.

"Skins" is a prime example of BBCAmerica's condescension towards their American audience. In Britain you have the "watershed", and it is understood that programs airing after 9 o'clock will not be censored, yes?

Why does BBCAmerica treat its American audience by a different standard? Why are we not worthy of viewing and hearing the same images and words as British viewers?

Umm pretty much EVERYTHING. Hardly any swearing, no nudity... It really takes away from the show. Luckily the DVDs are uncensored... even though half the music is missing. :( Oh America.

@hawjhawj68 Nothing to do with BBCA , everything to do with the US government. We have this agency called FCC that determines what content is suitable for American audiences. Certain words, subject matters, and body parts are deemed 'vulgar' and are banned. This is absolutely true, and it is absolutely terrifying.

response to imjackcrute: but the good thing is there only on Series 1 and they will have to wait until next year for Series 2 while Series 3 will aire here sometimes in 2009. Plus I think it is fair America do get the show as it is popular and better then most American shows at least UK TV shows are not in a dream world like most American shows.

BBC America actually doesn't delay in premiering shows second series after series 1 end's. Example Not Going Out took a few weeks to premier the second series & Primeval Series 1 is ending this Sat & Series 2 continues next week. I won't be surprised if Series 3 for Skins premiers here a few months or even weeks after the UK airing. Sorry I am a bit of a BBC America addict LOL.
