I would LOVE to break into this business. My art style falls into the tattoo category, but I don't think the environment would be my cup o tea. I'd rather work during the day and come home to my family at night... not to mention I'm pushin 30... I don't think I'll take too kindly to a bunch of 20 year olds hazing me during my time as an apprentice. "you gotta work to earn dat respek" sure, but why don't the other millions of jobs out there treat you like a POS while you're working your way up?
@jzama85 o ok sorry to ask but yea to tell you the truth it is a nice vid i can do almost anything from weldin to eating but i cant do this so basically you have a tallent that you should try to stick with and what state are you located in
@SavageLife404 thank you very much. actually, this vid is from my beginning with airbrush. And I'm in León City, Mexico. I have a "day job" but I do airbrush and custom paint jobs too, since those are not everyday customers.
@jzama85 yeah, it does take more time. But when you dont use stencils it shows you got talent, I mean just about anybody could paint a stencil,
thats sweet dude, sorry to hear that, sounds rough. but thats cheap for a project such as this. Im trying to find out how much to charge doing car hoods, do you ever do projects like that? if so, how much would you charge?
Yeah, np. Ill check out all of them. I like your work!
@perezjosephb Yeah absolutely! thank you. Well, the problem over here where I live is that most people are not too good to appreciate good art work and they want everything, good, beautiful and cheap. About the car hood, or any work you do, I'd recommend to classify
1.- Automotive or other. 2.- Estimated time. 3.- Difficulty of the job. 4. Materials 5.- Customer's demand level. (big demand=work+time=more price to charge)
thanks! I started airbrushing when I first saw Mike Lavallee painting his "true fire". Funny thing: I thought: "hmm that looks easy to do" LOL it's not. Takes lots of practice to get really used to your airbrush.
Well, it's not really easy getting into it by yourself but it's a lot of fun! because you have to learn things by screwing around, messing with paints and materials....and you create your own style because nobody is telling you what's right or wrong...but of course you'll have to learn some theory to handel your materials propperly.......you and only you will know your art secrets....and that's what makes you enjoy this stuff.
Nice work man. Sorry for your brother. It's funny, my brother and I were both into Martial Arts heavily AND airbrushing. In fact, that's why I'm watching your vid, back into the game. Not in Tshirts this time, hardshells and walls. Keep up the good work and please, post more when ya get em!
Well actually my brother passed away just 2 months ago...Had a serious complication in his lung...an internal bleeding. God Rest Him. But it's cool that we have that in common.
Sure I'll keep up the work..I'm always trying to improve.
well actually I didi this one for the Midex Martial Arts store that my brother (RIP) and I had. But I think I would have charged about 300 dlls for that one.
I used DuPont. and normal acrylic paint for base black. Expensive DuPont but effective.
yoooooooooo thats amazing i tried once to use an airbush i got like nothing compared to you i got like negative 100 keep up the great work god of airbush
good job man i airbrush also i think you should outline the tribal in white to make it stand out , but good job consider getting an iwata it should really help

did you free hand every skull, or jsut the first one?
and how much did you charge for this project?
perezjosephb 1 year ago
@perezjosephb actually every skull was freehanded. I try to freehand as much as I can, because masking and stenciling take a lot of time.
The MMA store belonged to me and my brother (RIP) so there was no charge, but I think I would've charged about 150 dollars or so.
thank you for your comments and check my other vids, please.

hey! muchas gracias!
a decir verdad, mi aerógrafo es el Paasche VL.
Lo elegí por su versatilidad y por recomendacion de expertos, aunque el IWATA es excelente.
Muchas gracias por tu comentario! Una razon más para seguir adelante!
