it is said that paul wrote it about his mother mary who died of breast cancer when he was about 14..it's what bonded john and paul, losing their mothers at a young age...the live and anthology versions are much better than phil spector's polished up abum versions...yes, the beatles are all genius :)
My father passed away five years ago today. Our love for the Beatles and their music was just one of many things we had in common. This was one of his favourite songs, and it was played at his funeral. Let It Be has given me the strength to continue, like I know my father would have wanted me to, even at the toughest of times, when I've felt like giving up. I owe it all to these four men.
i dont even thinnk i HAVE a favourite Beatle. I love them all: George's silent but powerful spirituality and talent, Ringo's sweet caring smily nature, John's lyrical briloliance and strive for peace, and (last but certinally not least) Paul's boy-ish charm mixed with his inner kindness. I love them all!!! T_T
What's up Beatles fans? I would be honored if you would check out my version of this song. When I first heard this song I was deeply inspired... I must warn that it is rap music, but not like you hear on TV nowadays. It has a positive message like the rest of my music. Give it a chance and you won't regret it (I think). Jam it or slam it in my comments, I'll take whatever feedback I can get positive or negative. Peace and respect...
My all time favorite song. As in a lot of Beatles songs, George Harrison's very subdued yet melodic solos helped make the songs memorable. In this case, it made Let It Be even more memorable.
This was the Beatles' Swan Song... both "Let It Be" and "Abbey Road" were their best polished productions in their time, despite of their masterpieces such as: "Rubber Soul", "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper"... to me, they were innovator of mid 20th Century Rock n' Roll at their FINEST!!! Long live THE BEATLES!!!

Such a beautiful song, such a talented man. The one and only Paul. That was it before splitsville for the Beatles.
