Hysterectomy is normally not done as a method of contraception. It is typically in response to medical abnormality (such as tumors, abnormal excessive bleeding, etc.) with the uterus. Contraception can be achieved by a tubal ligation, a much less invasive and less risky procedure. Removing uterus has nothing to do with hormones. Those are produced by the ovaries, which were in this procedure, left in place.

I'm a guy, for some reason youtube "recommended" this video for me. At any rate here are the reasons.

1. if the woman sleeps with multiple men you would have a hard time convincing them to all get a vasectomy.

2. i think they also do this for woman with hormonal issues.

Usually single women don't get hysterectomies because they might want children in the future.

Yes, there are some cases in which it's recommended for the woman to get one but that's for medical reasons =/
