may i just say that i was happily surprised to hear King of Carrot Flowers and Konichiwa Bitches in your music. Katy Perry not so much, but (Shrug). I like the music used for the most part.
i can't wait til the smaller pre-releases because i live in like a no where place in PA, so i've never been able to ge to a prerelease because i don't have a license yet and i'd still have to drive for over an hour to philly if they have one there, so i love it
A fatpack is a assortment of magic goods where as a booster box is just...... alot of booster packs, i think like 23? A fat pack comes with 20 sided die, a book, 8 boosters, the blocks setlist, 40 land cards, a box to carry cards in, and a visual list off all of the cards in the set.
WotC just can't stop shooting itself in the foot can it? First MTGO3 now Mythic Rares? Having said that they've never really supported us here in the UK all that well anyway...

props? he's an idiot. i would MUCH rather hang out with my girlfriend than go to a tournament or prerelease. all he's doing is increasing the stereotype of nerdiness.
Wizards better point this huge economic boost towards reopening States, disabling FNM pre-releases, and/or starting more casual oriented tourneys. WotC needs to stop dropping the ball and actually keep the players in mind.
I think the changes to prerealeases are not that bad, it's bad in that it ruins the atmosphere but good since its going to get more players. And i agree with the tournament organizer dude, FNM's are supposed to be fun and casual so you can make friends and win cool prizes but itis realy just people testing for PTQ's and stuff.
Are you guys the only ones in your area that want to attend? Has no one heard of car pooling?
These are not weekly events. How hard is it to set aside $20-25 a month for a few months to be able to go? I'm pretty sure that most of those complaining about the cost and distance play at their local store on a weekly basis. Skip a week once a month and see how much of a difference that makes.
Losing events such as the large pre-releases only hurt the overall game. Those who spends money on the game... travel to attend large events. Those who don't travel... don't spend money either... Bad call, Hasbro!!!!
I kissed a girl and i liked it too :). On to serious business. Every person who said they don't like the idea of Mythic rares probably doesn't understand how easy it is to get them. There are going to be approx. 1 in every 8 packs so in a box u get 36 packs which means u should get 4 or 5 mythic rares per box so there won't be a huge mark up in the value of mythics
The thing about smaller prereleases is that guys in USA won't never see the big plus about it. I live in Peru, and in 2 years, I've only attended to 2 prereleases, because it's so hard that my small city (but important) will get to host a prerelease, but now, we're going to have a lot more of them, and that means more cards and newer players to the scene.
I Really Don't Like The Fact That Mythic Rares Are Coming Out, Simply 'cause I Think That They'll Eventually Create An Additional Rare Type To Match Yugioh or The Other Card Games. I Just Hope Some Guy Doesn't Fuck Up And Create Another Skull Clamp-Like Card And Make It Like Foil Mythic Rare (I Know Every Card Printed Is Also Printed Foil, But Still You Know What I Mean.)

god you guys are retarded....is all you care about magic and sex? don't you care about actually BEING with your girlfriend? such a stereotypical magic player, seriously.
To me magic is slower and more strategic. Is cheaper and more luck based because theres always a chance, no matter how good your mana base is, to get mana screwed/ flood.
Yugioh is faster and more on like.. How fast u pull your killer combo off. Too bad its not the skill rather, the powerful cards that determine the winner. Therefore I prefer magic but play yu gi oh when Im bored because its fast and kills my time nicely. =). Ok the insults can start now.
i used to play yu-gi-oh before magic. and i admit that after about 5 years away from the game i cranked out the GBA game and played it and i actully got way better cause of magic
Haha. We are praising Yugioh on a Magic dedicated show... Thats as dangerous as wearing a Brazilian jersey and going onto the Germany side of the stadium 10 mins before FIFA starts. LOVE the show btw. Personaly, I'd rather get a 'good' rare than a mythic rare.
Good show as always Evan. About the preleases going to smaller venues....like the judge says it has its good and bad merits. Ive been to 2 pre-releases and both times Ihave enjoyed being around all the people that go to them. for me personally it would take away from the experience if it was only like 40-50 people instead of the 105-200 that attend. But thats just me. Yea that player...ummmmm lookin at all that starin you down...."when in doubt Firespout"
well its just that the prereleases if you hvae ever been to one are so much fun with that big taste of just comfort and friendlyness so making it smaller is like taking that away
I had so much fun at my first ever prerelease here in California. I got to talk to people and I also got to see louis scott vargas, didnt actually talk to him but he seemed like a cool guy. I dunno what to honestly think about these new prereleases but Ill see sooner or later. well yeah. another awesome vid, Evan. KEEP IT UP!
Knollspine Invocation really brings out the worst in players sometimes. Last week at FNM draft, I'm playing blue/black at 10 after firing my Corrupt, and my opponent tossed an Oversoul EOT at my lone Rootcutters while he was at high double-digits with four forests. Then he ripped & pitched a Wort EOT my next turn to blow something else up.
But what alot of these people don't realize is that with gas at 4-5 dollars per gallon alot of people can't afford to travel 100's of miles to goto pre-release.
I somewhat agree with people about the Mythic Rare thing and Yu-Gi-Oh! cause it is bs the multitude of foil insanity in that game. However I am happy about the Shards Pre-release thing as I've never gone to one of the "big" pre-releases as I live in a little town in Ohio. So being able to play in my local cardshop will be sweet.
Yeah, I went to the prerelease... but couldn't bring myself to spending 30 bucks on cards that would have no value close to 30 bucks. I probably should have just played and sold the packs I win, but it wouldn't have been worth it. I never really considered how much the loss of the prerelease will hurt the game through the TOs. We'll see though, here's crossing my fingers.
I have yet to attend a pre-release and transportation is the reason. I live in California and the closest pre-release is an hour away and with high gas prices, its kept me from going. With local stores now running pre-releases it makes it easier for me to go. Wizards is doing this because they want to make money from new players not from old ones. Personally I think people are being a bit selfish because I hated going to a tournament with a lot of people that I didn't know.
