Hey Now they Have both X-Plane 9 Airliner and X-Plane 9-Helicopter in the AppStore both for $4.99 It's fun for real although a rip off as well.

It's a pity that a game elements is lacking, they could've just included a 'fly-to' mode... I won't buy it.

hahah.. i didn't mean it sarcastically:P i just meant that since the ipod touch is not a dedicated game console, there is only so much they can do with games right now. i, personally, didn't even expect that they could do THIS much with the ipods and iphones. even this is amazing to me. i guess i'm more oldschool:P didn't mean it offensively.

Yes. i have an ipod touch. i love it! the applications they are starting to come out with are amazing. i mean, they lack some element, like you said, but for the most part they are really neat. and they keep adding things to applications. i just bought this x-plane app the other day and i agree, there are some elements missing, but they like like to add downloadable upgrades for these apps, which is cool.

I agree it doesn't belong in the game category in the App Store, but a lot of apps are doing this to attract attention and sales.

X-Plane is a full-on simulator, even the desktop version doesn't have game elements to it. They won't be making it into a game, either. They did promise in an update more planes, helicopters, and gliders, though.
