I think JoePa did a damn good job against the spread beating Purdue and Wisconsin like that (the same Wisconsin that Michigan couldn't handle). 2008 is going to be a rough adjustment year for Michigan, so you might go 7-5 or worse, and have the winning streak snapped, but in the long run you'll also be beating the other Big Ten powerhouse, Ohio State, if Rodriguez can establish himself in the way Bo Schembechler did.
Well, I'm not going to make excuses for Wisconsin beating Michigan. We used our freshman QB exclusively & he blew it, plain and simple! It will be an adjustment to Coach RR's style, we have a very talented RB coming in & only time will tell if Mallet is going to fit into the new system or not. But 7-5? I sure the hell hope not!
Michigan was 7-5 in 2005, but amazingly mostly lost to the teams they were supposed to beat and pulled off a few crazy upsets. I'm thinking Michigan will be 7-5 or 6-6 and will end up in a bowl game, but not a prestigios one. Probably in 2008 it'll be the Motor City Bowl or the Insight Bowl.

I think JoePa did a damn good job against the spread beating Purdue and Wisconsin like that (the same Wisconsin that Michigan couldn't handle). 2008 is going to be a rough adjustment year for Michigan, so you might go 7-5 or worse, and have the winning streak snapped, but in the long run you'll also be beating the other Big Ten powerhouse, Ohio State, if Rodriguez can establish himself in the way Bo Schembechler did.

Well, I'm not going to make excuses for Wisconsin beating Michigan. We used our freshman QB exclusively & he blew it, plain and simple! It will be an adjustment to Coach RR's style, we have a very talented RB coming in & only time will tell if Mallet is going to fit into the new system or not. But 7-5? I sure the hell hope not!

Michigan was 7-5 in 2005, but amazingly mostly lost to the teams they were supposed to beat and pulled off a few crazy upsets. I'm thinking Michigan will be 7-5 or 6-6 and will end up in a bowl game, but not a prestigios one. Probably in 2008 it'll be the Motor City Bowl or the Insight Bowl.

Penn State University is every bit as much of a "real school" as the University of Michigan. They are BOTH public ivies. I know Michigan likes to pretend it's the University of Pennsylvania, Brown, Yale, Harvard, or any other Ivy League school, but the truth is, no matter how much you attempt to tranpose the reputation of the University of Michigan to that of the University of Pennsylvania, or another Ivy League school, it will never be any better than PSU or OSU.

Michigan is a Public Ivy just like OSU and PSU. Neither OSU or PSU has the weak academic standards of a community college, the requirements for admittance are roughly the same as the UM requirements. These are the 8 charter schools for the Ivy League: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale. I don't see Michigan on this list, even though it's just as old as these schools. Because it's only a Public Ivy like OSU and PSU, that's why.

A few of those wins were illegitimate such as the 05 win, but I won't get into that. The 2006 win was fair and square, I'll admit, but it was a close game. If you remember, 2006, where you struggled against us 17-10 (I think that actually hurt your BCS standings) was the same year Notre Dame destroyed us 41-17. And I don't hear Notre Dame pretending it takes us lightly. Our 2007 loss was all our fault, we played you using the same strategy we used against FIU.

Parenzetti, PSU & OSU don't hate Michigan. They envy Michigan, because unlike PSU & OSU, Michigan is a great school with a premier, blue-blood football program. Michigan has more national & conference titles than OSU or PSU. We're also the "winningest" program in IA. We taught Notre Dame, the only other genuine blue-blood program in IA, how to play football. Michigan fans have the right to be proud of Michigan's contribution to college football history. We're proud because, unlike PSU & OSU, we have a more venerable and more storied past. Michigan, not ND, is responsible for introducing & popularizing college football west of the Appalachian Mtns. In fact, Michigan introduced football to ND, our wicked offspring.

i go to penn state and i went to the michigan game this year and in 2005. You guys have the worst fans, 5 minutes before the game started the student section wasn't even filled. You are the quietest 110,000 people I have ever heard and ESPN says it themselves. Our 5,000 fans made more noise than your fans did. So go ahead and jump on the bandwagon cause you'll just lose to Ohio State anyway. It's funny how you guys talk about how you own us, yet you can't beat Ohio State, which we have done.

Just keep winning 5 to 6 BIG TEN GAMES; which is equivalent to another embarrasment at a bowl game. By the way, I was suprised when Lloyd Carr didn't ask the scoreboard technician at Michigan, for more time on the clock....o well u just can't whine every single game.
