  • at 2:47 he takes off running and at 2:51 he returns to the same tree he just left from? LOL

  • He sure knows british wilderness, Should come to Australia and teach us how to be better environmentalists.

  • If he is in Britain then why was there Irish music? P.S RAY YOU'RE AWESOME!!! GOT YOUR SURVIVAL HANDBOOK AND GOT FIRE STRIKER!!!

  • i ned to save money so dis ray mears show help me a lots lol

  • For everyone thats looking for the song at 4:49 - The Title is "Capercaillie - Tobermory" looked for it a while, and found it =) love the song. have fun listening to it.

  • @91Brn Thank you, my Baby ^_^

  • whats the music around 5 minutes?

  • About the salt marshes: the guy said that he and some others were marsh people.

That's alot like my clan the Anagatogewi. We are the swamp and tuber/potato people. We are protectors of the land and do not abide by the laws of men who wish to bulldoze everything in the false name of progress. They build houses that nobody can afford. We have no homeless where I am so why build houses for people we dont have? No use in having more than 1 gas station in a town with a population of less than 2000.

  • @Caveman0713 if you are a "swamp and tuber" person how are you using the internet? fucking troll

  • @roas2 Just because I keep in touch with my heritage, doesnt mean I cant go into my nearby town, go to the library, and use a computer. If it does then the world is a much sadder place than I had previously presumed. And just because I protect the land, doesn't mean that I cant enjoy the same luxuries as everyone else, while at the same time keeping my life simple so that I do not become accustomed to such luxuries, just in case I am no longer afforded them

  • "You need permission to light a fire!?"

  • does anyone know what the song fragment at 04:51 is called like?

  • I just tried birch sap a couple of weeks ago and it was really good . Next year i would like to try and harvest a small quantity of it just have to watch out for the tree huggers

  • 1:15 ......haha, Ray's chance to flip the audience the bird.

  • I love this sort of stuff much better than the things he's doing on tv now with the leopards etc. His enthusiasm was contagious then.

  • O,o what is he, Macgyver?

  • What is the name of the song?

  • if u have ever tryed this u know this is really

  • pine needle tea is good , so is acorn coffee ,

  • pine needle tea is great

  • pine needle tea? not so sure about that

  • why not ? the indians drank it , very high in vitamin c

  • hi there ....you know i realize that he didnt come to my country to show his skills we have as well forests ( bushcraft ...etc ) ....also a like him to go to other countrys as well :D it will be fun ;)

  • Oh he DID go to other countries. And you can take all his lessons to most of the other countries.

  • Ray has to think about his budget for doing anything with training. In America, there are people like Tom Brown's Survival School and other places that teaches the same thing.

However, I do like Ray's style of teaching.

He's the person who can communicate the idea across his audience. That's why I'm buying all his video here in the States.

  • I like your point of view. Ray is above all an educator. I used to watch this show way before he became global, way before Bear Grylls. Bear knows his stuff too, but the difference is that Bear's forte is based on showmanship and excitement. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm more into knowledge of survival than ratings as an entertainer. Bottom line: I wouldn't mind having both these guys with me in a tough situation; or a pub over a few pints.

  • That geeza at the end mud sliding looked like a jesus lizard!!, also better if she was in a bikini.

  • SAMWISE GAMJEE!!

  • maan i cant wait to go camping now... n try some of that tea

  • He's so devoted to the nature.. Lovely.

  • bushcraft shure is brilliant.

ray mears was very entertaining. bagpipes were nice to hear also.

  • He is like a hobbit!

  • this looks like fun

  • bear grills and ray mears are my favorites

  • same

  • Brilliant!

  • Aw.....Ray Mears when he was young, bright-eyed and bushy tailed....and also with quite a mane of windswept hair.

I must admit though, he seems to have lost alot of his boyish enthusiasm which he shows in this clip and has replaced it with a more serene, laid-back approach. In itself not a bad thing, but I guess it shows how much he's evolved and changed.

  • hahaha lol

  • Gallic is all over Wales and Ireland to..

  • Gaelic

  • ray mears is my god

  • amen to that!

  • seems cooler then then he is now, i dnt know why but now day its into all the deep reasons and obection to our ancient tree spirtits and getting aroused by how are ansestor probably did the same in the same place. then he was like any other person just being in the wilderness/forests... and saying usful stuff. not like "i makes me happy to think our ancient root probably fished in the same way.
