About the salt marshes: the guy said that he and some others were marsh people.

That's alot like my clan the Anagatogewi. We are the swamp and tuber/potato people. We are protectors of the land and do not abide by the laws of men who wish to bulldoze everything in the false name of progress. They build houses that nobody can afford. We have no homeless where I am so why build houses for people we dont have? No use in having more than 1 gas station in a town with a population of less than 2000.

If it does then the world is a much sadder place than I had previously presumed. Ray has to think about his budget for doing anything with training. In America, there are people like Tom Brown's Survival School and other places that teaches the same thing.

However, I do like Ray's style of teaching.

He's the person who can communicate the idea across his audience. That's why I'm buying all his video here in the States.

I like your point of view. Ray is above all an educator. I used to watch this show way before he became global, way before Bear Grylls. Bear knows his stuff too, but the difference is that Bear's forte is based on showmanship and excitement. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm more into knowledge of survival than ratings as an entertainer. Bottom line: I wouldn't mind having both these guys with me in a tough situation; or a pub over a few pints.

Aw.....Ray Mears when he was young, bright-eyed and bushy tailed....and also with quite a mane of windswept hair.

I must admit though, he seems to have lost alot of his boyish enthusiasm which he shows in this clip and has replaced it with a more serene, laid-back approach. In itself not a bad thing, but I guess it shows how much he's evolved and changed.
