Hibbing, my home town. It has been a very interesting place with lots of personal stores from meager beginnings. It was a true melting pot of immigrants and their families. Slovenians, Italians, Finns, Scandinavians, and many more. M own grandparents spoke almost no english. A great place to grow up, in spite of its brutal winters. So many memories, for me 1946 to 1968. Family still there including my 91 year old mother, a great italian woman.
actually im from hibbing and lived here almost my entire life but the mine is not the worlds largest open pit mine but olny the worlds largest open pit iron ore mine
i like the fact that you used bob dylan for your soundtrack without telling people why...that gives so much character to your video...great job indeed
Absolutely wonderful video guys! I have been to Hibbing a couple of times years ago. I teach a Metallurgy class at a community college in Michigan. I as just telling my class about Hibbing last week, as we will be talking about mining & ores this week. You did a great historical documentary! I plan on playing your video n class this week. Way to go!
The theature in the Hibbing High School is moddeled after the Grand Theature in New York City. I have the great honor of being able to attend this great school. Greetings to everyone from Hibbing Minnesota!
Wow a truely great documentary. I live in Hibbing. Its a very nice town thats famous for a lot of things. Hibbing is where the Greyhound bus company started it has the largest open put mine in the world (the hull rust mine) it was the home town of Bob Dylan and it was the town that moved. We just had the Curling nationals here in Hibbing too. The mining companies also supplied a magnificant high school to the city with marble walls and beautiful chandoliers and irreplacable paintings.
Terrific documentary. Obviously it means a lot to millions of Bob Dylan fans like me (sitting here in SE London) who are fascinated by the background to this amazing man. It gives a whole new angle to the line in North Country Blues - "In the north end of town my own children are born, but I was raised on the other." Thank you very much and greetings to Hibbing!
What Dylan songs are used? I know the first is "Hard Times" but anything after that would be much appreciated.

Hey, I'm entered in the State competition this year. I did a documentary on Film Censorship. I'm really nervous about it.
