Got to count this sort of blues all the way out to 12. There 3 beats in a set, and 4 sets of 3. Each one has a different accent. Just something to think about to get yourself in line with the feel of the music. Its actually poly rhythmic if you think about it in detail enough. Just count 12. Keep 12 in you mind while you jam away. Good luck. :)
Sheesh, I thought for sure I was going to get my ass chewed out for saying count to 12, LoL, Usually, that's what happens when I try to help. O.K. Yes, Great. Yes, 12 it is then, great, :) LoL. No wonder I am not a people person. Sheesh
Great job! Wish I knew half of what you do about this "desktop studio" stuff! Take a quick listen to my "blues in em "on the acoustic....................it could use your lead on it! thanks......Guitarman
I did check out your Blues in Em and loved it. Like I wrote on your page, it's a soothing tonic. :)
The beauty of what you've produced is that you can sit on a beach, a mountain top or even a tree branch and serenade the masses. If I'm not plugged in, all I can do is hum.
Ok, I thought so, that rules out the POD, because it has no aftertouch. Is there any limits to what can be done with a keyboard? For instance, could you play Ian Parkers Sassy Blues Jam (here on Youtube) on keyboard?
I just checked the Sassy Blues Jam and it's kickin' for sure!
Most of what I've heard can be duplicated with the setup I have, however the pitch bend range would have to be extended from 2 semitones to 3, which would give the expression a whole new range and feel. Additionally, the swipes down the neck, as well as any note bends (eg. bend up to A and hit A at the same time) need to be addressed.
I believe RealStrat can do this, but I've never tried.
Yes, I'm using aftertouch to control the feedback effect using the RealStrat VSTi.
I haven't laid hands on the Line6 KB37, but it does look like it can be a good addition to the desktop studio. Personally, I prefer at least a 49 key controller, and I would scrutinize the pitch bend wheel to make sure it's as responsive as your needs call for.
The Axiom 49's pitch bend wheel is perfect for me. Very responsive with a rubbery feel.
I'm running Tracktion 3 on an eMachine, dual processor w 2G RAM running Vista Home Premium (what a thrill). The soundcard is a $30 Soundblaster Audigy SE and I'm using the ASIO4ALL driver, which offers low latency with minimal snap, crackle and pop.
The Line 6 Gold bundle has its own ASIO setup which also provides low latency. This would probably work well for most playing situations and some low level shredding too.
Whoa! The tones were cool but I'm trippin out that it's a keyboard. Maybe I'm outta the loop but I never heard keys played like that. I'd like to see a vid of how you create the bends and vibratos. Crazy....
Sincere thanks for the comments... but it's not a guitar. It's a MIDI keyboard going into the computer using Line 6 Guitar tones. "Gary Moore Blues" if I remember correctly.
I gotta say that your Les Paul/Marshall tone inspired this and is absolutely at the top of the list of coveted tones to my ears.

Read up on RealStrat. It's a good front end.

Hi there!
Did you use the keyboard aftertouch?
Your opinion of the Line6 POD Studio KB37?
thanks again

Great stuff!
Just a few questions.
Did you have any latency problems when playing, and what kind of computer/soundcard do you have?
thank you

That is pretty crazy.......you play a keyboard like a guitarist plays a guitar.....!!!!...

The music is sublime. The pictures are incongruent with the exception of 2 or 3. Best viewed with closed eyes and open ears and heart.

I know. I was actually going for the in congruent look. :)
Thanks for listening!
