Contrary to most people on here I like Nirvana's version better. I love David Bowie and think he's a great artist but Nirvana definitely in my opinion improved the song. David Bowie's version in my opinion could have ended a minute or so sooner and Kurt added a solo so it wasn't the same guitar part over and over again. The unplugged version by Nirvana of this song however is much better then the current version you are listening to.

You need some serious schooling if you think you know anything about singing.
I love Nirvana, but it's a well known fact amongst true fans that Kurt wasn't a great singer.
But still millions (including me) love his voice for it's originailty. Kurt proved to us that you don't have to be the greatest singer for generations of people to appreciate your music.

I simply mean that David Bowe's voice doesn't go well with this song compared to Kurt's. Kurt wasn't great as far as vocal range, but it was raw, powerful, and skilled just enough. I personally think Nirvana probably had a greater impact on music then David Bowe, but that's an opinion.
