If I purchased Ableton Live Suite, but only have the demo version of FL Studio would it still work for this technique since I don't actually have to save it in FL studio?
@DubWuv I can do the rise in both analogue and operator, it's just about setting the glide time right combined with getting equal note lengths between the starting and finishing note.
@Oezilla I wouldn't call it better... Theres guys that manage to make great tunage with FL. I just prefer using Ableton as it is much more fluid in my opinion.
@eArtrash Ah, fair point. Ever since I heard Skrillex uses Ableton I picked it up and tried to learn it. Not even sure what those more popular dubstep producers use. Always thought they had like full mix boards and only used FL studio for placing everything together. I've always wondered if you needed sub par musical / instrumental skills to make dubstep, I just assumed having a sense of rhythm and flow would be enough.
Hey your videos are all really really great. I use some different VST's but you do a lot of stuff that I can apply and should in the future :)
One thing though is when you copy the automation from your main bassline in the end to your track from FL studio, you have the LFO set to sync to tempo on the main bassline while you leave it set to hertz in the bassline from FL. Not sure if this is intentional or not...

Why does your skin for ableton change on every video?
GavinTurso 1 year ago
@GavinTurso So when I put the annotation images up they are clearer. Plus, it gets boring starting at the same colours all the time.
