  • It's not Keye-ro. It's KAY-ro.

  • After this song I went for a job too salem willows bought some boiled peanuts didnt really like them and slowly fed them to the birds.

  • Why do I love this song so much?

  • @humanentity1 fail troll

  • just boiled a batch. i love them but i can't find anybody else who does. some people will never understand

  • @MrSoggySocks The song quality is often low because John Darnielle was militantly lo-fi and often has recorded on boomboxes, etc. The Tennessee and Sunset Tree albums sound pretty polished, if you're looking for higher-quality recordings only.

  • they are all over you tube and you can buy it places where they sell it .

  • I just added on my to-do-before-death list: go to cairo, Gerogia; have boiled peanuts for breakfast.

  • Until yesterday I had no idea boiled peanuts was actually commonly eaten. To me it always sounded slightly deranged and very abject, which sort of suited the song. In fact, I think I prefered that version. But it's a great song either way.

  • better than boiled goose?

  • Something about the recording and my particular headphones is doing something to my eardrums that is uncomfortable and making my eyes water, but I don't care because I get to listen to an amazing song.

  • @GTK96

    same. its bizarre.

  • i have neither had nor heard of eating boiled peanuts

  • I love boiled peanuts.

    I love this song.

  • boiled peanuts look very unappealing.

unlike this band which i would marry in a heartbeat.

    go go mountain goats

  • @upinyodamngrill I hail from South Carolina, a place where boiled peanuts are sold at every corner store. I know they look disgusting, and in fact, they feel sort of disgusting, too, but trust me. . .they're very very good. They're soft, juicy, and palpable, with a salty sort of fullness. They're almost meat like in their fullness. You just have to make sure they're well boiled, or they. . .well, they get kind of nasty.

It's probably been eight months since you've thought about boiled peanuts

  • They have several albums that were imports or rare releases from obscure labels so many are very hard to find, fortunately most of the songs from those albums are also available on some of their more widely distributed albums. But I strongly recommend getting every album of their's that you can because they are all amazing have their own unique narrative, Long live the Mountain Goats and John Darnielle

  • where can i find this song?

  • It's on Zopilote Machine, which you can probably download from Amazon or something, but I think the CD's out of print :(

  • It's not from Zopilote Machine, it's from "Protein Source of the Future...Now!" You can probably still buy the CDs used from Amazon for the price of a normal CD. That's what I did.

  • Ah, woops, i was totally thinking of Going to Georgia. I seem to mix those two up more than I should. Apologies! Fritz speaks the truth.

  • Probably because they're both so mind-blowingly awesome

  • Don't forget that brains attract

    Darling fetch the battle axe

    Decepticons fear this brilliant autobot

Do fish take baths a lot?

    Dogs frequently take back apologies

    Dreadful feudal treachery breeds atrocities

    Darkened forests take bravery away

    this is what DFTBA is!!!!

  • bottles and cans and just clap your hands.

  • @TheNikeNOW Nerdfighter! FTW!

  • Peanuts are about the only redeeming quality that georgia has. But I mean... you can buy them anywhere... so...

Atl does have some good bud though...

And we haven't entirely raped every square mile of uninhabited land...

But it does get pretty fucking unbearably hot and humid...

Meh... I guess its all right.

  • It would probably be nicer if we hadn't burned everything back in the Civil War.

  • @YourProfessor

Yes, and that's after logging the shit out of every old growth forest in the southern appalachians in the 20's.

The people would still mostly be the redneck fuck-twit bible thumpers they are though.

  • But hey, it isn't all bad. You people invented Coca-Cola, and CNN and Gnarls Barkley, and some other shit that I forget but probably like.

  • This guy is on some sort of mission here... I mean I don't blame him, youtube comments and their validity are pretty serious matters of business

  • @michaelonlign i agree. DFTBA.

  • minus the not and add the S.

  • So if I see just "DFTBA guys!" or something of the sort I will mark it as spam and give it a thumbs down. I don't mind people saying DFTBA but say something along with it that isn't just spam.

  • Whut is DFTBA?

  • Don't forget to be awesome...

  • thank you, I am no longer in the dark.

  • I am a nerdfighter and I think that spamming "DFTBA" is dumb. Usually we are cool and smart, but people get ideas like this in their head it needs to be stopped. All spam is wrong. Please do not say anything if you do not have anything meaningful to say. you might argue that not forgetting to be awesome is important but not if you need to be reminded every two You Tube comment I don't think you're smart enough to be a nerdfighters.

  • What nerdfighters video were they mentioned in ?

  • The unwashed masses?

  • Yesh, DFTBA!!

  • DFTBA to you as well! Best wishes, everybody!

I love how the Nerdfighters are like jumping on the Mountain Goat train. Hahah. <3

  • i knew i'd find a fellow nerdfighter!

  • DFTBA!

  • so guess what i feel like eating right now...

  • I haven't seen boiled peanuts in such a long time. I don't think I ever will again. This picture is the next best thing.

  • Boiled Peanutterry

  • Badoodoodoo!!

  • Fellow Nerdfighter? Coolness. =)

  • Nerdfighters unite!

  • hecks yes! best wishes :]

  • Best wishes :D

  • I like it! reminds me of "Neutral Milk Hotel"

  • I can hear the vocal similarities, but the guitar is totally different, this has lots of muting whereas NHM doesn't generally.

  • Yes! Love them as well!! :D

  • NMH songs were recorded using many techniques to make it fuzzier, as well.

    But the voices are similar.

  • Great song and all, but he mispronounces the name of the town. It's "kay-roe" Georgia.

  • he knows that now, and when he does it live he says it right.

  • this is quite honestly the best cinematography our generation has seen. thebradybrunsh are to be worshiped like mountain goats in the Rockys

  • I spend most of my year in Georgia and it's a great place but they're so silly sometimes.

  • Where at in Georgia?

  • Cairo.. its a place in Grady County which is in South west Georgia.. Its about 45 minutes north of Tallahassee Florida, 35 minutes east of Bainbridge Georgia and 15 west of Thomasville. Ga. Its also the birth home of Jackie Robinson I believe.

  • Delicious pictures make me want to have some boiled peanuts.
