in school the songs you learn don't usually require high notes...any plastic school recorder can go that high. It is all in the fingering. To get higher notes, halfway uncover the left thumb-hole on the bottom side of the recorder and try the fingering for the lower notes (for E, G, A), and you will get an octave higher.

lol thats not the higest note i can get on it but it was cause i messed around with it to see how high i could go with random figering (trust me theres probably a chart for that but i cant read notes lol)
