Oh my, this is really rare. I am proud there were Filipino great singers during the late 19th and early 20th century.

hi there! do u still have the old 78rpm disc of that one?... just asked coz I also have a very old 78rpm disc of Maria Carpena, as well as Caruso & Galli Gurci, around 1903-something... any buyers out there?

thank you so much for uploading Maria Carpena. she was a long forgotten star even if she was indeed the "first filipino recording artist". "Ang Maya" came out in 1908 under Victor Recording.She was considered the superstar of Philippine entertainment in the early 1900's till her untimely death at the age of 27 on March 8, 1915. Again, thanks for the attention you have given our "lelang". from all of us, her relatives from sta.rosa, Laguna.

Sorry wala dahil sa isang museum lang nagmula ang kopya niyan. Please hanapin mo si Mr. Nestor Vera Cruz ng "Music of Yesteryears" sa UP Teacher's Village, Diliman, QC.. Sabi ni WIKIPILIPINAS: "His collection of 78 RPM records include recordings of Maria Carpena, the first Filipino recording artist Atang dela Rama, Jovita Fuentes, and Fernando Poe Jr., all national artists of the Philippines."
