2 things, if it wont come back, dont walk upto it and still feed it. Secondly, dont feed it for flying to the fist from the floor, both of these are simply teaching the bird to be lazy. If you walk upto it every time because it won't fly back to the fist, it will see that as acceptable behavious. Likewise for feeding it from the floor. Your bird, but just a tip.
excellent , i wish i had a harris , but im frightened that i would be out of my depth as i have never owned a bird of prey before , are there any decent books you recomend or any other way of getting soem knowledge , before i get into this sport

@mchale822 go to a birdfarmer, and learn it all:) reading stuff from internet and practicing it on your bird is the worst thing you can ever do, a bird of prey is totally diffrent then your paroquet:) And im not the only one who says that so is my valconryclub:)
