  • the british humour is the best in the world, we are known for it, we have the best humour, which is sarcasium, take the piss and make a joke out of everything

  • @usterdboy Please, just shut the fuck up.

  • This is when the British become faggots about America and the Americans become faggots back at them.

I'm British and I hate it when someone starts a random unprovoked argument about the Americans being "fat" and the British having "wonky teeth"

  • People arguing just seem uncivilized here. Americans have great respect for English humor, and often it's there inspiration especially faulty towers, Monty python, black adder and red dwarf. But at the same time i have a lot of respect for 'smart' American humor like Scrubs and M.A.S.H

by arguing you just seem a lot less educated and less cultured then the comedians we know and love. They have great respect for each others comedy and humor and you should try to too.

  • What is American humour?

  • god damn it every time i try to compare british and american humor its just a bunch of english ppl flipping shit on americans! calm down.

  • @FireCrotch74 And vice versa. Americans are equally guilty of it mate, "OMGZ DID U BRUSH UR TEEF DIS MORNING?" etc etc. I agree with the Calm Down sentiment though:)

  • @FireCrotch74 They are equally great in my opinion, just there is a lot more decent british comedy around than american. Is that fair to say? :)

  • @SweetMintPie555 "there is a lot more decent british comedy around than american." If you had a lobotomy and all your senses vanished then sure yeah i guess it would be better.

  • @usterdboy no, you misunderstand me, i mean that proportionally there are more successfull british comedy programmes than american ones, however not living in america and it being such a huge place, I'm not really in a position to comment.

  • @SweetMintPie555 if you meant that then you would have type that. im guessing you heard of friends, everyone loves Raymond, how i met your mother, two and half men, The office, SNL!!! and many more that you can go on with. i am very sure that their has been more comedy shows and more successful ones on the fact only that America has over 300 million people living in it and hundreds of channels.

  • @usterdboy .....which is exactly what i just said? In my view there are more bad american comedies than british ones, however there are more good american ones than english ones. That is what I meant when I said 'proportionally'. This is likely to be true, as, like you say, america is a bigger place!

  • @SweetMintPie555 well if you keep correcting yourself then maybe one day you will type what you really mean to say.

  • @usterdboy I'm not correcting myself, i'm explaining myself in different ways to somone who needs things to be spelt out to them. Difference.

  • @SweetMintPie555 you are doing a crappy job at it. maybe you need to go back to high school and redo English class or take a communication class. seems like you really need to.

  • @FireCrotch74 because they are all just jealous. They know the only people who enjoys that shit comedy expt "holy grail" is lobsterbacks. Shouldn't even be called comedy. DRRRRRRRYYYYYYYY water please.

  • That just proves how dumbed down the world is from "americanisation" , even the brists are laughing at the stupid shit that they always find funny and us brits are sadly following!.

  • @85Aheadstix go fuck yourself and stop with the American stereotypes.

  • is the woman Kate Mulgrew ?

  • One word... Inbetweeners!

  • that was a bad joke, i hope the whole movie wasn't like this.

  • British Humour in all it's glory, but this sucked. Simon Pegg and that fat guy from Shaun of the Dead, now theres the real british humour. Top Gear, and An Idiot Abroad aswell. Or pretty much anything that Ricky Gervais does.

But on the other hand.... Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia, or Community, epic shows with epic humor.

Lets all realise, that its not nationality, its just intelligent funny people, born in different places in the world.

    Btw, I'm swedish

  • technically the title should be Equus scene / American humor vs British humOUR

  • We get everything because it's different. I fuckin love British humor.

  • i don't get why people think americans have simple humor. we have some comedy gems even by british standards (arrested development, community, our version of the office, seinfeld, curb your enthusiasm, saturday night live)... even family guy or scrubs which is more low brow has some wit to it. yeah we have some shitty shows like two and a half men but then again so does britain.

  • it should be "British humour vs American humor"

  • i dont get it

  • It's not really funny after you read or see the play the whole way through and see he's not lying or making it up.

  • USA!!!

  • i thought it was humor not humour??

  • Americans are funny to look at

  • @arsenaljsutliffuk; No, no, no. You did the joke all kinds of wrongways.

It should go: " Sure, Brits are funny... funny-LOOKIN'!! "

  • @PadraikKasier my bad man, if only you were around earlier to prevent my poor joke.

  • @arsenaljsutliffuk; It's all right. No damage done. We simply quarantine the failed joke, then irradiate it prevent further contamination.

  • well im british, i find scrubs and family guy hilarious, and simple things like that, but i also find things like blackadder, and father ted funny too, but the american comedy tv, is pretty much a watered down version of british, i mean, look at mr bean, slapstick humour, possibly the simplest form of humour on tv, and then theres scrubs, which is mr bean, with some drama and setting thrown in

  • @storeyno3 I know im saying this 5 minutes late but father ted isnt British its Irish.

  • I'm American, and I laughed at it. Does that suddenly make it "simple"?

  • I like comedy from both sides of the Atlantic. If your going to be biased and just pick one show that is lame and stupid and then tar everything else that comes from that particular country as lame and stupid then your being narrow minded. I love 'I'm Alan Partridge' but I also love 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' aswell. So in my opinion both nations are capable of producing great comedy.

  • this isn't funny one little bit, i hate when americans see a joke or a scetch from britain and if they don't like it they class it as british humour

  • I like Mexican humor..

  • lopez tonight show in america is fucking funny but he is mexican oh well.

  • I dont really find either funnier than the other one, I find you people funny

  • I pick british Monty Python FTW

  • harry? is that you harry?!

  • As an American... i think both brits and americans are funny and everyone has an opinion and its stupid fighting over who's funnier and etc and it doesn't matter who smarter than each other i think its very extraneous that were even bringing this up

  • I like Black American humor...but white american is just people shouting.

  • @Uzzie101 You are British arent you. Most blacks are liberal, and since britain's majority is liberal, that is why they find black more funny; simply because blacks always make fun of white people and republicans.

  • @Jakepod34 No I'm actually Irish. I just like Black American comedians because they say what you're thinking (but too afraid to say) and make it hilarious. This thing Radcliff is in, it's not funny. It's just pretentious.

  • @Uzzie101

what do you think criss rocks stand up is?

  • @briishspy I think Chris Rock is hilarious, but if there's someone else called Criss Rock then I'm not sure.

  • Did he say American's are smarter?

  • @SmedleyDouwright damn right!! =P

  • @SmedleyDouwright They are cooler, smarter, nicer, and funnier! :D

  • British humor is better. It's so random and stupid, it's funny.

  • British humor is the BEST!!! Haven't you ever heard of LittleKuriboh, MasakoX, and ShadyVox? FUNNIEST GUYS EVER! ^_^

  • British humour kicks ass.

  • @jameswsparker yeah that mr bean....sure whatever

  • @jameswsparker only for British people, everyone else thinks it is dry, slow, and stupid.

  • @usterdboy Considering the amount of copied/adapted shows that USA has done of British shows tells me that USA is jelly. Jelly we have so many awesome shows they can't compete with. It's stupid cause you can't wrap your head round the humor because it makes you think which we all know thinking means using your brain and that hurts and we don't want to do that don't we. Fucking dumbass.

  • @GrantFerSure First off stop using Jelly. "who the fucks says jelly anyways?" Second the only people that like British humor are brits. The french thinks its stupid, The Germans also think so, and just about every nation doesn't get it or just doesn't like it. THERE IS A REASON THAT BRITISH HUMOR IS 2ND RATE. O and name calling is just childish "well maybe for you it isn't".

  • I find most American comedian's really bland and boring. The only american comedian i would pay to see would be Rich Hall. and maybe Regnald D Hunter.

  • Funny is funny to me and humor is humor no matter what state or even county its from.

  • brits are more sarcastic and observant :)

  • I like both and I'm British.

Don't care if it's American or British. Humour's humour.. for me.

    ._.

  • Seriously...? I mean I read some of these comments and can't believe some of the stuff I read... Brits do NOT have a "Funny" accent, lack of culture, or have "Tea & Crumpets" everyday, and not all Americans are fat, have a diet of fast food (take-away), or have an average IQ of 30... although some do. NOW GET OVER IT! As for the humor; each country has their own comedians, and styles of comedy. Now... can you guys peacefully debate this without bringing in cultural insults?

  • @CervarianMusic: No neither side can't sadly, it is about belonging to a group and asserting yourself over others. And no one can confront in person over a YouTube comment so the stereotypes fly. I've been to the whole of Britain, did a tour for 3 months, beautiful places, many people in England I noticed have beautiful teeth (never sure where that stereotype came from). There are always the ignorant ones in every country no matter where you are who don't think before they speak.

  • @CervarianMusic well put

  • @CervarianMusic come one you people have shit for culture, your teeth are jagged and yellow, prob like to rap little kids, music is crap unless they are on some sort of drug, your people military is lack "begin nice with word choice on that one", Have horrible food "people must have declared war on flavor years ago", people are to arrogant and pig headed, not very smart, slow to reacted, very annoying accent, majority of you people are not attractive at all, and finally you people have a stick

  • @usterdboy Just though I would point out that firstly, Britain has the most glorious military history out of any country in the world, American food is drowned in salt, sauce or fat, the arrogant people are most definitely Americans (highlighted by you), if we were not smart mot of the things you know and love today would not have existed, you have the annoying accent and stupid pronunciations like route (also highlight which accent, we have many) and American culture derived from British

  • @datnotfair first off technical i dont have a accent. i speak without one. i love planes, computers, and machine guns witch was all invented here. Also you are speaking about fast food "THAT IS NOT PROPER FOOD IDIOT" and anyone that believes Americans only eat fast food shows how unintelligent they are. Also the Roman empire has more rich history then faggot Brittan. go back and brush your teeth and take a shower.

  • @usterdboy Everyone has an accent, dumbass! Did I say I was speaking about fast food? No you have put words in my mouth, highlight where I said Americans only eat fast food. Yes i never said Britain invited EVERYTHING. Look at what Britain invented in the past, like the train! Where is the Roman Empire? The British Empire may no longer exist but the Military that did still exists! The Roman empire lasted 500 years England is much older! How original, a teeth joke. Why don't you eat fast food!!!

  • @datnotfair shows how much you lack in historical knowledge moron. the roman empire "not speaking about when they were a republic" lasted longer then the British empire. "Byzantine empire anyone aka eastern roman empire??" I do not technical speak in a accent shit face and does Germany have to put you yellow teeth, uneducated faggots back in your place? America invented the plane have fun on the train.

  • @usterdboy You do speak with an accent, you will not notice a unique one, because you are used to it. How do you think you pronounce your words? you can not be that stupid!!!! As far as the plane, the idea was first drawn up by Sir George Cayley of England! Research British 19th century engineers Your comment just shows your level of maturity. It is dicks like you which reminds us why the world hates America! Also remember the role Britain had in creating your "wonderful" land

  • @datnotfair omg kid you have no clue how i speak "i dont have a accent unlike you stupid ass yellow teeth limeys". stfu America invented the plane a couple brothers called the wright brothers "every heard of em?" Brittan is the most hated and shit filled country on this plant and the only reason you people are still around is because we allow it. remember next time you go to your local wal-mart buy some tooth paste and a history book so you know what the fuck you are talking about next time.

  • @usterdboy YOU CAN NOT BE THIS STUPID!!! everyone who speaks has some kind of accent! IF YOU SPEAK, YOU HAVE AN ACCENT!!!! The wright brothers completed the first successful flight, they did NOT invent the plane. If Britain is so Inferior to America how do you thick America of today cam into existence? THINK ABOUT IT PROFESSOR.

  • @datnotfair you stupid fucking Brits think you people invented everything. news flash the light bulb, plane, computer and much more was invented here in this country including the internet moron and the website you are currently using. like i said i TECHNICALLY DON'T SPEAK WITH AN ACCENT you have know clue what the fuck you are talking about kid and how i sound. go back to brushing your teeth and fucking your sister stupid shit. ever heard of Christopher Columbus??

  • @usterdboy I love it. I have come across the stupidest person in the world. Please tell me how you don't understand that the only people in the world that don't have an accent are people that can not talk! I can't make it clearer. I don't know where you get your research. I told you who first came up with the plane, A Brit; the father of computers is Charles Babbage, a Brit. We are technically arguing on the World Wide Web invented by Tim Berners-Lee, a Brit! you used bad examples. 13 Colonies?

  • @datnotfair bingo you stupid fucking moron "i dont speak". Go GOOGLE who inverted the plane, computer, internet. god you lack any higher function. you are suck a nationalist pig I'm starting to feel bad for you because you just come up with shit. I love how you drop half the shit you were arguing about when i bring up solid facts so continue your trend of shutting the fucking and realizing you were wrong. AND IT'S NOT YOUR NOR MY RESEARCH IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE IDIOT! go riot uncivilized rats.

  • @usterdboy In your first comment you go "first off technical i dont have a accent. i speak without one." (superb grammar). Now you say I don't speak. WTF are you on about! Maybe you should research the names of people I am giving you. The points I drop like the roman empire are because I realise I was wrong. You point blank refuse to acknowledged facts I put in front of you. You randomly mentioned Columbus. Yeah he was an Italian and what? shouldn't people in the US be busy exploiting the poor

  • @datnotfair i see sarcasm eludes you. Brittan did not make America, Americans made America, but it was under the control of the crown. Remember people left your shit country because they didn't want to stay and be persecuted. Also lets talk about the french, dutch "founded new york as a trading post", and the Spanish. every limey shit head assumes they themselves populated the Americas and every accomplishment in America and Canada is because of Brittan.

  • @usterdboy I think Britain was more influential than any other country. Have you herd of the 13 colonies? The were part of the British empire (British America). The holiday you celebrate on the 4th of July (independence day) was when the 13 colonies gained independence from Britain and the USA was established in 1776. That, subsequently, formed the United States of America. The United States of America won the civil war (almost 100 years after independence) To Defend the USA. I know other

  • @datnotfair congrats you know American history at a elementary level. Ps: the roman empire was the greatest and most influential empire since mankind recorded their history so stop with this British nationalist bullshit.

  • @usterdboy Yeah I admitted I was wrong with the Romans, I have said that. I was just pointing out that with out Britain, America would not exist as it is today, and you probably would not. I doubt you know American history at all. Did you know they lost the Vietnam War? anyway, I know that your comment was your way of saying I was right ;)

  • @datnotfair no not really, my family comes from Norway and i would still be here. "wtf are you even try to say?" Vietnam war was sign in a peace treaty and when the untied states left the country that is when the south collapsed "America won on the battle field, but lost at home with stupid ass hippys bitching over something they had no knowledge over". Sad i have to explains this, but I'm pointing out that yo have no knowledge above a elementary level of American history "it is a insult moron"

  • @usterdboy BRITISH COLONIALISTS FORMED THE UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA! 4TH OF JULY 1776. Why do you celebrate independence day? Secondly, why did the USA go into Vietnam? to stop the spread of communism (policy of containment). Did they manage that? no, fall of Saigon, South Vietnam went communist. The fighting style sucked, search and destroy mission and operation trident did absolutely nothing but piss of locals. Did you think they went there for fun?? You were never on the front foot!

  • @datnotfair English,German,Irish,Scandinavian,Italian MADE AMERICA. the lack of knowledge and miss information is rampant with you. I'm Scandinavian and can trace my family back to 1734 faggot. Containment works "example SOUTH KOREA". The only reason U.S. soldiers left Vietnam was because of political pressure from the American public. American soldiers did their job and stopped the north from taking the south and this was proven when and only when American soldiers left then the south fell.

  • @usterdboy I never said other countires did not make America. Just fucking learn about the 13 colonies. Containment did not work in Vietnam did it? Vietnam is not wiki, we do learn it in England, just we take a neutral view. I know the problem in the States with Uni students getting massacred, but the primary objective was to stop Saigon falling communist. What happened professor? Why don't you wiki the formation of the USA as you lack a basic knowledge of it . If you track everyone's

  • @datnotfair omg every words go in and out of your head. it is hard to believe that you even wen to school or can even type. the job was being done and i will repeat once again the south fell only and ONLY when the us forces left the country. containment would have work if the American public allowed the military to stay longer in Vietnam. figures show that the north was buckling from contested bombing of supply lines and the mounting casualties was taking its tole on the north Korean military.

  • @usterdboy After the french pulled out every country wanted one Vietnam, apart form the idiot Americans. To win a war is to achieve your main goal. The war was not over when America left. You wanted to stop communism in the south and FAILED!. All hand-to-hand fighting was in the South. By the time the US left it was a stalemate, neither sides had the upper hand. If america won, we would still have North and South Vietnam, but we don't. It is the same situation For the US and Brits in Afgan

  • @datnotfair you dont know what the fuck you are talking about. VIETNAM was a restricted war. they could not enter any other country, BUT the south. and i will repeat it to you again you fucking idiot when the American military was present in the south they stop the spread of communism into the south and was beating the viet cong on the battle field.

  • @datnotfair It become a war of nutrition and America had the advantage, but once agian the public did not want to sacrifice lives and money for some distant country that had no to relevance to them. And the politicians wanted that vote and thus the troops were pulled out of Vietnam. ONCE AGAIN THE SOUTH FELL ONLY WHEN AMERICAN FORCES LEFT. holy hell you can read this online shit go get educated. I'm done repeating myself.

  • @usterdboy Look, you have proved how stupid you are. "technical I speak with no accent" proves everything. When you go to do somthing and don't achieve it that is a loss. It is the same in sports, exams and life. If the USA were winning by the time they pulled out you would have a point. but they were not. If it was a restricted war why did Operation Rolling Thunder extend to the north? anyway, I am done speaking to an idiot for the worst place in history. Try and enjoy your life!!

  • @datnotfair look you dont how i sound so stfu cus you dont know what the hell you are talking about. You are some stupid foreign shit rag and fuck off about American policies or anything American cus you are not us bitch.

  • @datnotfair "BRITISH COLONIALISTS FORMED THE UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA! 4TH OF JULY 1776" your words stupid fuck. incorrect as i pointed out there were more then just "British descendents", but many other people from europe that fought for independence include African Americans. The people that fought did not view themselves as British for the simple fact that they had live in this land for generations just as now i view myself as Norwegian, but AMERICAN. go read common sense you idiot.

  • @usterdboy OMG YOU STUPID FUCK! British territories in the united states fought for independence. ONLY the territories that Britain colonized. no other territories just Britain. The fought JUST Britain for their freedom in the BRITISH territories. The former BRITISH TERRITORIES formed the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I can't make it simpler.

  • @usterdboy ancestors you will get a whole range of countries, have you herd of Immigration? I was born in South Africa, Irish granddad. Ireland had no role other than immigration in South Africa. You frequently prove how stubborn you are and you can't even process what I am actually saying. I pray for every one who us the displeasure to be exposed to you and youre apparent lack of knowledge out side of your personal sphere.

  • @datnotfair so next time dont wiki information cus you will just look like an idiot.

  • @usterdboy o and to stop this Brittan MADE America thing. The word "America" is FUCKING Spanish.

  • @usterdboy countries had interests in America but not as much in the formation of the USA. Do you know nothing of the history of your own country professor? So you are still a baby as far as countries goes. Our first King goes back to 1066.

  • @datnotfair you people did nothing, but start wars over here and tax people to death.

  • @CervarianMusic up your ass about every. very fake and pathetic you people are

  • O_o i didnt know this video would cause so many arguments

  • I think Brits should be mad at Harry Potter not America, lol. The fact that Americans would "get" a play better then Britons causes this trashing of American comedians?,lol. Shocking!

  • british humor all the way! monty pyton, mister bean, black adder, benny hill, and much more

  • @lovestwospooch yes monty python is quite humorus

  • Comment removed

  • I do enjoy Brit humor like Benny Hill, Monty Python and Sacha Baron Cohen but where you lose me is Mr. Bean. I find him mind numbingly boring. I am not gonna turn this into a pissing contest but U.S comedy is WAY more than just "stupid" comedy. Do me a favor google these people to get an informed decision on U.S. comedy, George Carlin, Mitch Hedberg, Burns and Allen, Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce, John Belushi, Larry David, Abbott and Costello, Jackie Gleason, The Marx Brothers, Redd Foxx.

  • Captain Janeway? In my psychological-comic thriller? It's more likely than you think!

  • So that's what happens when you get promoted to Admiral...

  • Americans dont get our humour, our humour is complex and is very stereotypical. Americans being simple minded will take it as offense and racism, while its just a joke.

American humour, is just simple jokes. No irony, no meaning, random, no depth. An American sitcom is basically a show of one liners.

  • Obviously you have been watching Dane Cook to learn about American comedy. It isn't like every American thinks yelling profanity into a microphone is hilarious. Watch Steven Wright or even some George Carlin stuff. American humor does have plenty of irony, but is based heavily on satire. I caught a Ricky Gervais special, and a Jimmy Carr special, they assumed that either you like this, or you have no sense of humor. Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Carr aren't extremely funny to me.

  • i'm an american, and i like a lot of comedians and shows here but the brits have a lot more greats.

  • I LOVE Graham Norton and Catherine Tate, they are most definitely my favorite comedians. But American comedians can be funny. Its just the ones that show up are mostly fagots like Dane Cook and Carrot Top. Ron White is some funny shit.

  • When Americans get it...It means the Brits think that it is too simple to be funny.

  • agreed.

  • @surrealgeorge - Exactly, they think we have no clue what irony is or that we have no depth or substance. It's a popular opinion in which Stephen Fry says is really about the inferiority/superiority complex that Britons have towards Americans. That it only reveals the insecurities of Britons by their need to always bash Americans.

  • @surrealgeorge you mean like the simplicity of brushing your teeth? We think it's a riot you can't master such a simple task.

  • @Speegs23 Go fuck yourself you racist turd - that stereotype applies to like the 1950s - come over here and see how bad our teeth are. How about I talk about how unintelligent your countrymen are.

  • @surrealgeorge LOL, so insecure aren't you, you dish out prejudice but can't take it back, talk about immaturity, now go brush your teeth.

  • @surrealgeorge BRUSH YOUR DAMN TEETH SURREALGEORGE!

  • @believer893 well, it's a good job you're not a racist. OH SNAP

  • @believer893 GO DIET BELIEVER893

  • @Speegs23 You ignored his question and continued the childish stereotype. Not the best example of American's im sure...

  • @dimebag4lyfe I question your reading comprehension for you clearly didn't get the context of the goading the juvenile received. Please save your soap box for a contextually relevant moment, your diatribe is quite misplaced and asinine.

  • @Speegs23 Okey dokey!

  • @Speegs23 Wow you must have taken a long time to google all the meanings of those words. Seems a bit much for an American. You are American aren't you? Well it's time to tell you a secret. Your land was colonized by a bunch of retards. We needed somewhere to put the tards and this land we found, now America, seemed like the best place to keep them from ruining our land. Keep a spare bed out, my retarded son will feel right at home with his kind.

  • @GrantFerSure LOL, how embarrassing for you to be the poodle of a retard then speaks volumes of you.

  • @surrealgeorge riight nice excuse lol

  • @surrealgeorge Brits suck so who gives a shit.

  • @surrealgeorge

I'm sorry dude but I find british humor offensive! I find it vindictive, inappropriate, and I was urged so many times to crack a brit right against their skull for it. I didn't though. I kept my anger in check.

What can I say? I'm sorry but I found british humor to be vulgar and too saracastic. I'm not laughing dude.

  • @pluto4847 That's what makes it brilliant - sorry if you didn't get it, oh wait i'm not sorry - go yank yourself.

  • @surrealgeorge wow, your a dick. don't like it when one of your own people compliments americans? my my, how awful it must be to be you. :D

  • Comment removed

  • @surrealgeorge That's a fucking retarded reason for why one doesn't or does laugh at certain humor, especially in this case. It also shows that you immediately don't want to think anything from America is funny; "it's from America, ergo, too simplistic, ergo, us smart and erudite Brits can't laugh at it". More blind sub-conscious American hating just for the sake of hating here. Some of the greatest and smartest comedians who ever lived were American. First that comes to mind is George Carlin.

  • @Infinitesimalism Dude, they were joking. Learn to laugh at yourself a little more, you'll be happier for it.

  • I prefer british humor :)

  • Thats your opinion, if you were British i very much garantee you would say the opposite.

  • yeah your probably right

  • Actually, pretty much everyone except the Americans would agree that the Brits are funnier.

  • @apestaartje321 - Really? Well that's a bold statement, to assume you know what the rest of the world thinks. I would love to see the viewing figures of American comedies and British comedies. I love both countries comedians, they are different, no one is better, just different.

  • Dont you think your proving my point, by being American and questioning what I said while everyone else gives me thumbs up?

British comedy such as Monthy Python influenced a whole generation of US comedians, not the other way around.

Meanwhile the fact that camble companies flood the channels worldwide with American sitcoms does not mean they are actually more appreciated. Ive yet to meet anyone who wont agree that British comedy has more to it than 'Fresh prince of Bell Air' and such.

  • @apestaartje321 - I'm pretty sure the people that are giving you thumbs up are Brits, lol. To assume that all American humor is simple and Fresh Prince-like, is ignorant. I believe a gentlemen suggested to check out George Carlin, Mitch Hedberg, Burns and Allen, Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce, John Belushi, Larry David, Abbott and Costello, Jackie Gleason, The Marx Brothers, Redd Foxx. I think you are just more upset that Harry Potter thinks that Americans "get " a play more then Brits:)

  • @apestaartje321 - Oh and how does that prove your point? I am still confused about that one? I think any logical person would assume that your biased b/c of the country you grow up in. Obviously, lol.

  • George Carlin and Richard Pryor I happen to know, but almost no one you mentioned are well-known in Europe. So rest assured that most Europeans will agree with what I said.

As for bias, youre being pretty thick right there.. I'm neither Brittish nor American, your American, I mean what are you even trying to argue? And why are you mentioning Harry Potter?! lol

Honestly give it a rest, I really dont see whats so hurtful about accepting that Brits are the best at making people laugh.

  • @apestaartje321 -lol, well obviously your opinion is nothing more then subjectivity. I mention Harry Potter b/c if YOU WATCH THE VIDEO- you know the one your commenting on,lol, he talks about the DIFFERENCES between British and American humor. He states at the end that the American audience "gets it". Lastly, our American comedians are legends, not only universal but are widely popular and you know deep down that is the truth:) Oh and I have no doubt that Brits would agree with you, lol.

  • Your comedians are not legends outside of America, I just told you so. Its kinda sad for you to have a problem with this if you ask me.

  • @apestaartje321 - oh okay...lol...b/c you say so, I guess that makes it true. You know that is complete subjectivity and your opinion. To say that somehow Americans worship Monty Python is laughable, that is the only British comedy that Americans know, lol and that was 30 years ago! I mean, come on, you know that you are wrong. And now your precious Radcliffe admits that Americans "get" his play more then Brits, sorry, but you seem to have lost that to the Americans as well:)

  • Wow, the fact that youre so sure about what your saying is a testament to how isolated Americans are from global affairs..

I'm not 'saying' it, its simply true; no one here would know who Carlin or Pryor are. Simple as that, stop being in denial.

As for Monthy Python, ive heard many American comedians give credit to them, the makers of South Park among others.

The fact that it MP was 30 years ago just proves how good it was, thanks for bringing that up.

  • @apestaartje321 - lol...I think it says more about the inferiority/superiority complex that Brits have towards Americans, lol. You think Americans are simple minded, have no sense of irony, and your ignorance just shows here. I think I admitted Monty Python was the ONLY British comedy that Americans liked, lol. I believe IT'S YOU that loves our comedians, our movies, our songs, can I go on? lol. You just feel that British humor is all you have against the Americans, unfortunately it's unfounded:)

  • I'll repeat: I AM NOT BRITISH. Were you dropped on your head as a child?

I never said Americans are this or that, stop being so immature. I'm just stating simple facts, apparently thats a hard pill to swallow for you.

  • @apestaartje321 - Uh uh...lol... look who is back tracking now, lol, you just can't accept that Brits have been inspired by American humor, lol, you seem to be the one that can't swallow the pill, lol. Bet you feel dumb now, don't you? Embarrassed yet? I just blew your whole argument out the water, didn't I? lol, Moron. You know the truth deep down, just except it and move on:)

  • I was replying to what you said before those quotes..

The fact that your getting so emotional about this just makes my argument look better. Those people were influenced by US comedy? Good for them. They are comedians though, they ought to know about comedy. Meanwhile you can go around Europe asking who Hicks is, they wont know. They'll know who John Cleese is though. Stop embarassing yourself by arguing something like this.

  • @apestaartje321 - Emotional? I think I have what's called quotes from the mouths of your comedians, lol. You made a statement and I objected to it. That is how a debate works, You are trying to seem like your in control of this conversation, but my FACTS,prove that your opinion is just that...an opinion:)

  • @apestaartje321 - Did you have to get your friend sablasian to help you out b/c you couldn't handle a debate yourself?lol. Moron, I have proved my point quite well, that's why you are crying for someone to help you:)

  • Sure, there's nothing emotional about cursing me out. On top of that you have the debating skills of an earthworm, I have to explain everything I say wich is getting tedious. Good luck with reality.

  • @apestaartje321 - lol, except the fact that I just schooled you ass with FACTS, and you had to have your friend defend you to make it look like he agreed with you, lol. So pathetic, you are the one who seems to have the earthworm skills, lol. Sorry if you can't except the truth, or quotes from your comedians mouths, but unfortunately, myself and reality, seems to disagrees with you:) Oh and you hate that an American schooled you too huh? That has to feel horrible, lol. Good Luck:)

  • Facts?... Oh you mean those irrelevant quotes? Yeah those completely squashed my argument. Oh wait, they didnt- the average European still doesnt know who Hicks or Carlin are.

Youre talking like a 14 year old, so this is my last reply. Just so you know, I'm a big fan of Hicks and Carlin. I just needed to educate you on the fact of matters.

  • @apestaartje321 - Irrelevant? lol, this kinda blew your whole theory out of the water, lol. Americans know 1 British comedy that Brits always resort too. British comedians have been inspired by dozens of American comedians, lol., as you can ready by their quotes. That is a well made argument if you ask me, and one that you've been running from since I noted this, lol. So why did you get your friend to help you out?

  • I'm Irish and I know who Hicks and Carlin are, I think they're awesome!!! Actually a lot of atheists and quite non-religious ppl in Europe would know who Hicks and Carlin are, especially Carlin's classic sketch "Religion is bullshit" ;)

  • @apestaartje321 - Cursing you out? I think you really are the delusional one, lol. When did I curse you out?

  • @apestaartje321 - Wow, you are running from me aren't you? You say I am the illogical one, yet after I quoted Pegg and Gervais, you accuse me of not debating well and cursing you out, lol. Here in America we call what your doing as" biting off more then you could chew" or having" more bark then bite",lol, what do you call running from a debate b/c you have no substance?

  • Wow, youre sitting there waiting for me to answer? This is getting worse then I thought, its funny how you accuse me of being pathetic.

  • @apestaartje321 - ...lol,, yes b/c Americans know how to defend themselves and their country, lol. I am finishing what I started, something you wouldn't know about. I love how this conversation completely turned on you, didn' t it? Instead of arguing your side, your calling me pathetic for debating, lol. Point proven:)! This was too easy:) When your ready to get back to the subject and debate, let me know, lol. Your obvious resorting of lies and pettiness shows what u really are:)

  • You're right. I'm from Sweden and I don't know who this Hicks is, but I have heard of John Cleese.

  • As a non-English European I can confirm what apestaartje321 said. American comedy is irrelevant compared to English comedy. America does not produce things like 'Absolutely Fabulous', 'Bottom', 'Fry and Laurie', etc.. thats where the quality humor is.

  • @seblasian - Uh huh, I am sure you have NO biased here what so ever, lol. I am sure you will see this totally impartial, right? Let's not be absurd:)
