When my niece got her first spica cast off the most effective thing we did was show her the thing couldn't cut skin. she also liked me "helping" the girl cut her cast off. small children are easy to trick sometimes. he wanted to keep the cast on :) haha
when i got my cast of after 3 weeks i started luaghing cuase it tickled and it vibrated
