must agree i used to operate on the 11m and still go on cb , ive done my foundation and most of the time either they give a 5/9 report and 73's who cares anymore some of the best operators come from 11m and at the end of the day its all radio and if your hobby is radio , shouldnt you take an interest in it all ??? :/ i enjoy ham bands and i enjoy cb dont transmitt on 11m pirate band now but when i did it was great . If it was not for the 11m i wouldnt of done my ham and we all want more operato

yaesu840: How are they going to blow up a 706 using it on 11m sideband? These rigs can cover the entire HF band on transmit, they're just closed from the factory because the government makes them do so. To open most radios, it's as easy as clipping or removing a resistor or two.

I dont understand why CB'ers dont care about the laws of power output or type accepted for their radios so why not run FM? Most of you guys are running Ham rigs, its in there and got its easier to listen to !

I have been a Ham for over 30 years and have a lot of CB friends that have got their tickets. For the most part they are good operators and a breath of fresh air on the bands.

Ham radio operators have passed a test, and normally understand how radios work. They keep international goodwill, use satellite communication and provide emergency communications. CB radio is local and otherwise useless. What's so bad about using a ham radio for a CB? I use the IC-7400. It's fun, and friendly, is ham radio.
