  • The big bang explains why the universe is in expention, We cant find out yet how and why it happened, but can proof that it did happen.

**For the people saying god is real** There is no logical reason to think that there is a god (no evidence) Ofcourse god can exist if you need to believe in something or if you are looking for answers that nobody can answer but he exists ONLY in your head. *imaginary friend*

Good Luck with the losing weigh contest Joe i joined it too!

  • GOD IS REAL BIG BANG BREAKS EVERY THING OHHH A BALL POOF TREES LIFRE DUMB

  • @tjfree2001

god is real, but not the way human described

  • Having a pair of science degrees, I still have problems with this concept. All occurred from a single super atom going critical and exploding, and because of "expansion" the entire universe simple was, instantly. Hundreds of billions to the enth power light years across, just was. All that came afterward was merely a coincidence, happenstance, purest chance? Really? Tell me, then, Where exactly did this one atom come from?, how was it formed?, why was it formed? Sorry, too convenient.

  • I think all she heard was that there was an explosion.

  • If you count everything in it, the Universe is the thing most likely to kill you... Right?

Good story, you've got a new subscriber.

  • Now I have "Hey, nonny, nonny" (as quoted by Emma Thompson in the case of the sound in my head) in my head... and it's not quite saying "hey grams!" sigh...

Randomly going backwards on these time machines makes it clear which ones are truly, truly timeless tidbits of your world.

  • Have to say your a cool guy Joe :)

  • Think about this... when you get to the end of the universe what is there?

  • "The universe is shaped exactly like the earth, if you go straight along it, you'll end up where you were."

  • So, the big bang can happen at any time once again right?

  • I don't know, I guess so.

  • I don't know either. I was just wondering, if the universe is forever expanding. Can there be another universe about or already going to collided with this one.?

  • @BRAZEN08 Perhaps not any time. Look up the "Big Bang / Big Crunch" theory. It essentially states that eventually all the massively separated matter from the big bang, would, by gravity, be pulled back together to another singularity and continue to "reset" for another bang. This process is supposed to be about 1 trillion years per bang. Intriguing indeed.

  • As an interesting chap once said "As for me, all I know is that I know nothing."

  • Dude...your granny was.....well,she could ask very deep an deep and philosophical questions that she didn't even know it...I will ponder that question....though I have a feeling it's probably yes......

    this could take a while.

  • This universe has been around for billions upon billions of years. While i don't have evidence to support it, i do have evidence it was around long before the bible was written. So rather than walking around with a headache worrying about it I'm going to assume we came from the water and eventually made it to land. As for creation of the planets? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop? The world will never know. Google Tube Worms. They actually bleed red.

  • big bang runs on the theory that matter and energy and contain electrons that contain quarks. the quarks determain what kind of atom the matter is. if you explode energy you can create matter if the quarks touch at near speed of light or at the speed of light. It's quite confusing but I still like to believe in a god that made the big bang...It all gives me headaches cause I don't know where anything came from :( (new sub)

  • No problem with that! Faith serves a much better purpose grappling with things we don't know than contradicting things we do know.

  • so true

  • i live in the town where we found out about the big bang

  • Awesome

  • I really hate topics of creation or whatever you what to call it. Mostly because it causes me to get a major headache because my brain automatically for some reason tries to figure out the source and well when you hit a roadblock of non-existence you try to figure out where it came from. I mean where did the big bang come from? There had to be SOMETHING there before right? Where did that come from? Then there is god. I am a Christan by mostly force by parents but I agree and disagreeonmanytopics

  • If the Big Bang was real, than rocks should walk and talk! I'm serious, no bullshit

  • im sure your a theist huh?...

  • No, I'm not a theist.

I red alotta stuff about the Big Bang theory because at the beginning I thought it was interesting but no... no :)

  • You need to bring us along a little more there, ThaDeTox.

  • Your very interesting. :)

    New Subscriber.. :]

  • They theorized on this and becomes a belief. I mean when applying the big bang theory with god theory. A person who believes in god theory would say this is how god made it. If you don't believe in God theory then ok. just taking it to the point where it is told as a truth instead of a theory and dejecting the idea that they cannot provide or institute their theories in means that you deny their beliefs and value yours more. Everyone initially does this but it should be taught objectively

  • Then, of course, one would ask the scientists, the essential question: "Where did that tiny little speck come from?".. And that's why it's called a theory.

  • Thanks for the comment but that's not why it's called a theory. If they had an answer it would still be a theory. Any model of reality is called theory in science no matter how obviously true. There is literally something called the Round Earth Theory.

  • I admit I never heard it being called the 'Round Earth Theory' before in my life, but, alright, fair enough, you got a point there. I see how in science class a teacher might challange the students to prove that the earth isn't flat.

The issue here is the so called Big Bang theory, which isn't anywhere near universal truth, because they, the scientist, don't know where that tiny spot came from.. and how.

  • "Without any evidence associated with the earliest instant of the expansion, the Big Bang theory cannot and does not provide any explanation for such an initial condition. The theory accurately explains the general evolution of the universe since that instant."

  • No disrespect to the wikipedia quote there, but The Big Bang theory is generally used as a way of explaining how the universe came to be.."There was nothing and boom! Suddenly there was everything expanding at the speed of light."

But yes I did not know that the Big Bang theory excludes the first instant, until you [BradOFarrell] pointed it out. I salute you, my friend.

  • Yeah people use a lot of misunderstood theories to explain shit that isn't actually related to it. Most abused thing ever: Evolution.

"Americans have evolved into a fatter species by eating!"

Nnnngtttt that's not how DNA works...

  • lol

  • LOL! That made my day.

  • dude , my mothers name is nannie too

  • I disagree there was a big bang, but I like how you tell the fact.

  • You disagree with observable universal expansion?

  • The big bang. LOLOL HA HA HA HA

  • At 1:03 in this video you state "some how". That is EXACTLY all the big bang theory is a giant some how. God created the Earth is six days and rested on the seventh. There is no some how there. Just an almighty and powerful GOD!

  • Are you kidding me????

"God" is the DEFINITIon of "some how."

Saying "God did it" is the most classic form of "it happened some how, give us money."

  • Science allows for voids in understanding of the natural world if there isn't currently enough observable evidence to fill those voids. Religion does not, as evidence is not necessary for asserting an explanation for a void in understanding of the natural world. This the difference between mythology and facts.

  • I really liked this. It was a lot like a monlogue

Maybe this will sound weird, but your voice is very nice

  • That made me smile. Good video. = )

  • Aahhw sweet nonna:D Hahahah

  • Ha ha ... Good one!

Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are sometimes very different things.

My grandfather's knowledge & understanding was also limited, but he was the wisest person I ever knew.

  • What a great anecdote. I hope to hear more like this, as I'm not much into US politics.

  • Thanks, jillenium! I try to keep it somewhat varied, but there's definitely gonna be more politics.

  • i love you man.... but the big bang is still a theory. I find it to be far fetched as well. How could any scientist possibly come to a definate conclusion about such a huge concept when we cant even figure out how to cure cancer.

  • "accidental" deaths kill more people than cancer. How can scientists cure people of "negligence"?

  • I love you too, but you misunderstand what theory means in science.

It's not a comment on whether something is fact or not. A theory is a descriptive model, and a law is, in a sense, a characteristic. One won't become the other.

Big Bang will always be a theory, even though the COBE satellite confirmed, not just that it happened, but many precise details.

Also if curing cancer is easier than observing the origin of the universe, then your gripe is with lazy biologists, not good physicists :)

  • i love you man.... but the big bang is still a theory. I find it to be far fetched as well. How could any scientist possibly come to a definate conclusion about such a huge concept when we cant even figure out how to cure cancer.

  • good stuff

  • oh nona's. I understand.

The only problem with having a theory like the BB is that, over-time, evidence of its' existence will dwindle. And how do you believe something with no proof of its' existence? As a skeptic, I ask myself that question more than once a day.

Anyways, galaxies millions of light-years away are being pulled from us at a speed faster than light, which means that at some point, we WILL lose all reference to evidence of the BB.

I'm taking an astronomy class. Go me.

  • I like you.

    Matt

  • That's hot.

  • I like you too, but not like that Matt.

    Matt

  • Joe focus.....I know her intellect turns you on....

  • ah crazy grandparents.. haha great video bro

  • Big Bang to me = "Genesis 1:1" In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

    Justin

  • The biblical and scientific accounts of the begining of the universe are not mutualy exclusive.

  • I'd have to say... Yes, the universe is dangerous. But not in a malicious/purposeful sort of way.

BTW Thank you Shay for turning me on to Joe. Joe, you rock brother!

  • So then the universe is dangerous in same way that a pointy rock is dangerous?

  • What a great analogy!

  • heh, glad you liked it, I found it amusing. heh.

  • heh, first view and first comment. I win.

  • boo, the screen lied to me, neither of those comments of mine are true. Bollocks.

  • Haha, it always does that!

  • first yes yes yes omg firt wooooo

  • Sorry azikbear, you may notice that Shay is almost always first. We've got like a Vulcan mind-meld thing going. That or he's constantly refreshing the front page... :)

You can be honorary first, though.

  • Yes I can just sense when truth is spoken...But today I sensed a disturbance in the force.....

  • it's cause i ate mexican food..

    my bad man.

    -Brent

  • HA HA I knew I smelled something Brentish in the air!!

  • :-x. sorry to all effected.

  • Well I guess we cant agree on everything.....

  • Gee, how do you keep on being 1st?

Do you sit in a dark quite room, just waiting for the moment!?

  • Oops, a bit repetative (just read the thread down below).
