Everybody hated this movie, and they wanted more Michael Myers. So then what? We got a bunch more boring and predictable slasher sequels. Halloween 3 was a WAY more interesting concept, especially how they fused sci fi technology with ancient sorcery. It also shed light on the Celtic origins of Halloween and was an effective critique on Reagan America's consumerism and corporatism during the 80's. Not a great movie, but a hell of a lot better than seeing Myers go after another group of teens.

If you put all the Halloween movies together (excluding 3rd) it has a good, understandable plot; the 3rd, on the other hand, is completly different and shouldn't be named Halloween.
I understand that they originally wanted to do an anthology series but decided to keep michael myers going, but this was a good movie, i think more people would have liked it if one of these reasons:
1. The anthology idea continued
2. This didnt have the title of Halloween 3 because of the whole michael thing

The idea behind this movie is actually quite interesting; a cazy warlock/mad scientist out to kill all the children he can with a combination of magic and science is not so bad.
What doomed this film, besides the fact it executed the idea behind it quite poorly, was the name Halloween and the lack of Mr. Myers hard at work. Had they call it "Season of the Witch" it migh have fared better, IMO.

Rob Zombie is NOT attached to Halloween 3-D but the movie CONTINUES the story of the two previous Rob Zombie Halloween films.

Just to explain to anyone who is confused by this trailer and was expecting Rob Zombie's third Halloween film (which is Halloween 3-D) THIS trailer is the third Halloween film that was released in 1982.
There is NO Michael Myers in this film. They decided to make Halloween a yearly anthology movie series since they felt Halloween 2 (from 1981) finished Michael's story. However, those plans didn't work out, so they went back to Myers in part 4 (1988). I liked part 3, but I'm the only one
@zayzstation You're not the only one, I really liked Halloween 3 and LOVED the Halloween movies (Resurrection IMO was a little better than the Rob Zombie ones), to me it felt like Jason Voorhees possessed Michael in the Rob Zombie versions. I agree though that I would love to see Tom Atkins and the Cochrane character in the next Halloween though. Seeing it in 3D may be a little weird I think.
