There is nothing "core" about Katalepsy. Death Metal has been using these kind of breakdowns since the late 80's because Hardcore (Hardcore punk back then) was always an influence on Death Metal. Hence Deathcore being nothing new, only marketed as new because it sucks compared to Death Metal so it can steal Death Metals fame.

But i have now grown to appreiciate and enjoy it. basically there is absolutly nothing about katalepsy, they just have better production, which makes them sound "core" but its actually just (what i would call) the modern death metal sound. there really is not much point trying to stay stuck in the past with shitty guitar tones coz this just sounds so nice.

@BigMetalDaddy1301 umm this is slamming brutal death not deathcore they will never been deathcore i agree deathcore in some songs can be alot more brutal than death metal but it's rare when it happens the songs are usualy extremely brutal though

@BigMetalDaddy1301 yea but it's slamming brutal death metal (for me the vocals aren't to good but they are go great with the song) it's not very melodic which makes it just my style and that breakdown 2 times in the song holy shit nice i liked it 3 years ago and i still love it but the song "number of deaths" is better

@BigMetalDaddy1301 well katalepsy isn't exactly deathcore. there more like slamming brutal deathcore at the moment. and deathcore is a great genre.. it is only the mainstream bands that suck and a few underground as well.. but Deathcore doesn't have slam's... it has breakdowns, slam's are only found in slamming brutal deathcore rather than straight deathcore. if you disagree with me please tell me =P I'd like to learn a thing or two maybe and I'm not a pure deathcore fan i like all death + grind

Their last album was better but I like techdeath alot too but katalepsy used to be the most raw brutal deathmetal there was. It's alot like deathcore now but this the he'll outa white chapel and suicide silence . Fuck those bands katalepsy still kills

It seems that when bands release new material now a days it sounds like every other band. I like old Katalepsy better because they had a unique style back then.
